I'm not sure where to post this question, but if I uploaded my story from a word doc will it be properly loaded with the paragraph indentations and everything?

It won't work if there are any of the "really dirty words" from The List used in the story. Somehow, that really fucks the tech up.

Wait, what? Are you messing with me? Is there a list of dirty words? I'm sure I used tons!

You do know that there is a writers forum here, right?

Maybe you should be over there asking for help. After all, that's where almost all of the writers hang out and get tips and tricks.

It will not have any paragraph intentions. Lit uses a standardized left justified format, and any indenting present in the document will be removed upon posting.

You also need to have a line break between paragraphs. If that's not in there, the story will be rejected for formatting.

There's a better than average chance that any formatting beyond italic/bold won't be transferred over. You're more likely to get some formatting such as centering and blockquotes through the queue by uploading documents with the allowed HTML markup, but even that's not a sure thing, and I've heard that the new story pages don't completely support those alignment type tags.

Such questions are best posed in the Authors' Hangout.

Huh. Maybe I’m wrong. Sorry about that.

Worked fine for my poems, but they’re short. Maybe it’s different.

It is far easier to do copy and paste from a Word document and then add minimal formatting with html afterwards.
