Posting a theme song to a story?

This is just a thought and I'm not sure if anyone will have any advice, but:

A while back I wrote a theme tune to my novella. It may not be to everyone's tastes, but I think it fits the story perfectly - slow and eerie to start, becoming aggressive and moody like the character as the story progresses, then slowing to a sad ending to show how the character changes in the story.

Does anyone know if it would be possible and/or allowed to post this as audio to Lit and label it as a theme to accompany the story? I could host it on my own website but am uncertain if I could link to it from my member area.

I usually end up writing a song for each of my longer stories eventually (or an entire 2CD album in the case of my non-erotic sci-fi script  ) and it would be nice to share them with those who enjoyed reading the stories here.

I don't know that I'd like to read a story with theme music because I read much faster than most people so the music would be out of synch with the story.

I think the best solution would be to post the story as an audio story with the theme in the background while you read the story at the proper pace to synhronize it with the theme. That would solve both the variable reading speeds problem and put it in a format that Lit already accepts.

Sometimes Harold's entirely too smart :)

That would be my suggestion, also (for the same reasons, I also read extremely quickly)

The music is not meant as a direct accompaniment for the story. It's a novella, and would probably take you all far longer to read the story than listen to the music (IIRC it's about 11 Lit pages - 36,000 words)

It's really meant as an addition - if you liked the story, you could listen to the music inspired by it.

It may not have the same affect on others as it does me, but when I listen to the song it takes me back to sections of the story; it draws up the same emotions I felt when I was writing it. I would hope it to bring back those same emotions in anyone who was touched by the story.

On a side note, when I wrote the story I was listening to one of my favourite albums - an aggressive and yet very meaningful album that tells a story of oppression and inhumanity. I let the music shape the story. At the time I had a few lines from the album in my sig; another fan of the group saw the sig in the hangout and chose to read the story because of it. She then mailed me to say that the story gave her the same emotions as when she listened to that album. Cool, huh?
