Hi, I need help please. Could someone walk me through the steps needed to post pictures. Thank you in advance

How do you want to post the picture? Do you want it as an attachment? Or do you want it to show up in the post? Do you have it on your hard drive? Is it hosted on a site? Is it a pic that is on another website? I need more information and then I can help you.

picture posting

Thank you for your quick reply. The way I would like the picture to be seen is via an attachment. If appearing right in the post is as easy or easier could you explain both ways? I have not taken the picture yet, so it will be on my camera. I have the Picasa3 program on my computer. The other questions you asked of me do not apply, I guess, not yet anyway. Also the picture some people have under their name, how is that placed there? You may need to ask me more questions, I'm not sure what details were needed to convey my request. Thank you again for your help and for the detailed questions you gave. It helped me to explain what I was looking for

Ok...if you take the pictures and then download them to your hard drive, you can then add them to your posts as an attachment. Just edit them with Picassa and the save them on your hard drive. Simply post the words or caption in the message box (you must have a minimum of 5 characters) and then scroll down a bit. There is a section that says "manage attachments." Click on that and then the "choose a file" option. This will allow you to choose the file you want from your hard drive. Then click "upload." You can attach several pictures...I'm not positive, but I think the limit is 5. Just close out of the box when you are done uploading. Then hit the "submit" button, like you would a normal post. I have attached my AV as an example.

As for an AV: you have to have 100 posts before you are allowed to have one. At that point you can choose your picture and upload it from the "edit avatar" option off your profile page. You can change your "status" once you have 1,000 posts.

Sorry...forgot to tell you the other way! The only way to add the picture in the post is to either link directly from a web page or by hosting your own pictures on a hosting site. To get a picture from another website, you have to right-click on the picture you want and go to properties. Look for the web address on the pop up page and copy it. Some operating systems will now give you the option, if you right-click, to "copy image URL." I use Chrome and mine does! Much easier, but when I used IE I had to do it the other way. Then, come back to Lit and look for the icon at the top of the "Reply to Thread" screen and click on the yellow picture that looks like two mountains on a yellow background. Erase the "Http://" that appears in the box, and paste the web address that you copied. Hit "ok" and then "submit."

It's very much the same if you have hosted your pictures on a hosting site, only the site will provide you with the web address below your pictures that you can cut and paste.

I copied this image from a random page I found, just as an example for you.
