Overall entertaining experience, despite the inflated ticket price.

Fits of laughter interspersed with tears of pity and sorrow. Becoming pretentious in the third act and languishing in the beginning to a degree that would make Kevin Costner proud, the solid middle 40 minutes was the salavation.

A talent to watch, though the best days may be in the past.

LUIS GUZMAN IS THE GREATEST ACTOR EVER. OK, maybe not but he sure helped out with The Count of Monte Cristo. Practically saved it from stuffiness. He made East L.A. seem like a slow drive from Marseilles.
