Posted rules?

Not that I know of. Just the usual conventions of netiquette.

Yep

There are very strict rules actually pretty one;)

Avoid asking how long a story takes to appear after submission.

Avoid reference to sheep, garderobes, cowboys, and all things of a frivolous nature directed at any of said items.

Avoid clothing in avatar pictures, wet or otherwise.

Avoid speaking to strange men with anything connected to satan in their avatar, (Oh and Pirates)

That's about it really though, not too many.:D

(As the good doctor said, none really love, just think before you answer;) or post)

pops.........:rose: welcome to the board.

Talk about clairvoyance! I logged in because I wanted to ask the same question.

Seems to me I should have thanked people for giving me feedback on the thread I started. I did say thanks to individuals who gave me pointers to better my story, but somehow that didn't feel right.

So, I guess I make that my own rule then.

The rules are not particularly onerous. Most can be found in the Sticky at the top of this Forum.

See "Sticky: Welcome Authors! Please Read" posted by Laurel.

Check the Frequently Asked Questions links for general information, or for specific information, see the specific titles beneath.

:( Just don't ask "THE QUESTION" (about the length of time between submission and posting). Or, alternately do so, if you think MathGirl is looking peaked, and requires exercising.

Welcome, Prty! I'm impressed you asked your question. We're just like RL, haha - be polite (when possible) and thoughtful. And if you can't be bothered w/thoughtful be really really witty.

The most important rule: Don't call Svenskaflicka 'Sven'.

regards, Perdita

And another thing. Never, ever mention Bee M's. MathGirl just can't stand that.

hiya

hiya prtylilstranger, welcome to the piss takers forum:D

oh and please try not to get on the wrong side of the ll&p  :D they can be harsh to offenders.

Dear Prt,
Don't pay any attention to Perdita. I don't know why she says things like that. Svenska actually loves to be called "Sven." It makes her go all huggy-kissy for anyone who calls her that.
Kindly,
MG

Welcome to the wolves den. Don't be afraid, just be cautious of what you believe.

Quasi,

I checked the sucker out (after all this time I figured it'd be a good idea) and, behold & lo, there aren't any rules. Laurel just gives links to some of help/reference sites AND a list of writing contests.

According to that list, the next contest will be the Winter Holidays contest (themes: winter holiday traditions (dreidels, gift giving, etc.), cold weather (snow), holiday mythology (Santa, elves), etc.). It will begin on the first of December.

So as for the original question by prtylilstranger: Are there posted rules for the Author's Hangout? The answer is: NO.

However, it is advisable to be kind to your elders. After all, Santa is one of us.

I know too well these submission questions with me being a judge and a veteran at a few sites. Just don't ask... i'm pretty sure it is posted somewhere...

Welcome, Prty. Take no prisoners, no one else around here does. Besides, you'd have to feed 'em.

Dee

We each feed the other, already; even though we have not taken the other a prisoner. ;)

Of course, WHAT we feed each other, is far from nutritious.

haha

Lol, well thanks for all the welcomes guys. ;)

I asked because I had posted some info about a paying gig I thought some lit authors might be interested in, and it was zapped. I didn't want to offend any further by breaking any of the OTHER rules, so I thought I should know what they were. :)

And hi, all. I'm not really a newbie, just masquerading as one, and I've never really ventured into this forum. :)

That would fall under rule #6 of the forum guidelines (found at the bottom of every forum page) and not any specific author's hangout rule.

Literotica currently does not permit calls for submissions.
