Hello to all. I have a question that I hope someone can help with. I sometimes wax (or rather my wife does it for me) my upper arms. The skin is very smooth afterwards, which I like, but I tend to break out after a day or two. Does anyone else experience this? If so, what can be done to prevent it?

Thank you.

It sounds like you have clogged pores - I used to get them on occasion when I waxed.

~ You should be exfoliating almost every single day (but not the day of waxing). A loofah sponge with a mild cleanser should be fine. This will remove your dead skin cells, which can cause bumps.

~ Before you wax, wash the area with a mild antiseptic cleanser.

~ Make sure that your skin is warm. A quick warm shower and then thoroughly drying the skin (gently!) should do the trick.

~ After you wax, try using a mild creams that contain mild antiseptics such as witch hazel, tea tree oil or aloe vera, to calm the skin (many DIY waxing kits comes with wipes. Use those). Apply twice daily for the next 48 hours.

~ The next day, start your exfoliating regime and continue daily until you're due for another waxing session.

Hope these help!
