Someone already started a somewhat related thread about pandemic fiction, but I'm wondering if anyone has read, and recommends, any post-apocalypse erotica -- stories that take place during or after cataclysms that wipe out huge numbers of people, with sex.

One long online saga I recall from the much earlier days of online erotica was Al Steiner's Aftermath, which takes place in the mountains of California after a comet strikes Earth and wipes out civilization as we know it. It's more of a survival epic than an erotic story, but there's plenty of sex and sexual politics. You can't find it on Literotica because it covers some forbidden subject matter, although Steiner has published some of his other work here.

I'm still trying to figure out a good zombie apocalypse/erotica combo.

I just finished writing a post-apocalyptic piece, actually. A romance, if you can believe it. It'll probably be a couple more weeks before I publish it somewhere -- I still have to agonize over every word a bunch more times.

"EB, can you write me into a story where my leg falls off and I grow a new sexy place where it used to be? Simon seems to be desperate for ideas."

"But how will you spin, Suzie, so your skirt rides up?"

"I'll find a way."

Carry on :).

I can't say as I've read any since I really have never read many books at all, but two films come to mind. One mainstream, Cherry-2000 about a guy searching for a replacement for his burned out sex robot. And a XXX flick called 'Breeders' with Gina LaMarca, Asia Carrera and other top names.

Nothing to see here...

See my "One Night 2019" link in my sig :D

As to 'mainstream,' I recall "Dhalgren" by Samuel L. Delany, being quite heavy on sexual content of all combinations. Whether it was, um, erotic or not, is definitely not something everyone agrees on. As to post-apocalyptic, that's also not clear but some sort of significant event had altered reality. It's also borderline if I'd actually recommend it... was years ago I read it and I needed two or three starts and a need to take a break. Not the erotica, but the style. Very non-linear, extreme blurring of perception, and the like.

I've not come across an erotic-focused zombie apocalyptic work. Oh, wait. I think the anthology "The Living Dead," ed. John Joseph Adams, had at least one or two erotica-focused tales. The one I mainly recall a man tied up and gagged a zombie female so he could have sex with her but the upshot was she chewed through the gag and well...

Dhalgren was good. Complex, multilayered, one of his best. I’m working my way through my shelves and just hit Delaney, as it happens. Plodding through his Triton and remembering why it was never my favourite. Maybe I’ll drop it and move on to Dhalgren.

I don't have any new recommendations, well actually I have one, but I have to find the book because I don't remember the title. It was written by one of my college professors. I'll get back to you guys when I find it.

One thought that did cross my mind is that I was really expecting that my post-apocalypse wardrobe would be a lot cooler then a Cayman Islands Pirate Week t-shirt and khaki cargo shorts.

So when do we break out the Mad Max bondage gear?

I’m working on P-A story which mentions this and then immediately discards it for all the obvious reasons. Top of the list is that a costume consisting of a leather jockstrap, feathers and a kitchen colander won’t protect you against a cool breeze, let alone bullets.

Its a movie, not a book but Zardoz might apply. To be clear, I am not saying it was a good movie, despite Sean Connery being in it

There was an anthology of stories on this theme published last year by The Sinful Press and edited by Janine Ashbless. It's called Lust in the Dust: An anthology of post-apocalyptic erotica. You'll find it easily on Amazon by searching the title.

I have a story in it, called In Pursuit of the Millennium, which is actually an historical one set during religious wars of 16thC in Germany when religious sects believed the apocalypse and second coming of Christ was imminent.

Here's the book blurb for it:

"Peace and plenty are ideals barely remembered. Everything we used to rely upon has crumbled away, and pleasure is something few can afford. Every joy has to be fought for. When all the trappings of a civilised life are taken away, all we can hope to truly call our own are our bodies and our hearts. In the ashes, we make alliances where we can, and find solace and humanity in unexpected places. And maybe even a little hope for the future…

Lust in the Dust brings together ten erotic short stories set in times where civilisation and the rule of law have crashed and burned. The aftermath of a terrible war, a zombie invasion, a cityscape over-run by nature, a medieval fortress. Wherever there is life, there is lust."

As an aside, the editor of this anthology, Janine Ashbless, writes some of the best, most intelligent, literary erotica going. She's not on the Literotica site, but I'd definitely recommend checking out her work.

Thanks for pointing this out! This sounds interesting.

I released my latest piece for preorders. It should be available in full sometime tomorrow.

If you'd rather watch than read, then "Café Flesh" is a classic porn flick in a post-apocalyptic setting. It's also on many lists of the best porn flicks ever made. I'm sure you can stream it from somewhere.
