Post a picture from a link...?

So...for the life of me I can't get a photo to post as an actual photo when I comment on the threads. If I upload from my device it just posts as a file name that you have to click on, and if I try and copy and paste the file source link it always just said ' invalid link'.

For example this....

Says invalid.

What am I doing wrong?

Ah wait, you mean embed the image in a post? I think I encountered this before - my account settings are such that I've turned embedded images off - which would speed my browser right up, I'm guessing.

This should do it:

Done as: <img>URL</img> but replace <> with []. Click "quote post" on this post and you can see how I formatted it.

Note that this only works when you give the URL for a specific image (should usually end in .jpg, .gif, .png or something similar). The Tumblr url you posted isn't actually an image URL; it's a link to a page that displays that image as part of the content, so hotlinking to it won't work.

To get the image URL from the page you linked, I had to right-click on the image and select "Copy Image Location" (exact command may vary depending on your setup).
