Of late, as in times past so I am told, there have been moments when communication on the board has broken down into words some may feel were better left unsiad, others may feel were needed, but all except perhaps the exception of one or two can be seen to have contributed to as humans generally will under the right circumstances. Either way, it does nothing to make anyone feel good in the long run, or maybe this is just my ever optomistic need to believe we were put on Earth to survive together, not slug each other out to the death, and that in doing that often a word or two of appreciation not only heals the person to whom it is directed, but the one who voices it also. Yes, I know this is sugary to some, but what can I say, I am a cousellor/social worker, and a great believer in Eastern and so called New Age thinking....so please try and forgive and humour me!! http://smile.smilies.nl/373.gif

I thought it might be challenging and rewarding for all who are part of this diverse community to begin a thread where we can think of something nice to say about someone else on the board, preferrably not our best friends, though that is also OK, in the interest of generating positive feelings and thoughts. The only rule I would ask everyone to respect is that negativity be non-existant in this place meant to heal and nurture, not injure and alienate.

Pure: someone who attempts to raise the awareness of all, and to generate thought and reflection, while sharing his perceptions and findings on the topics he feels important or interesting enough to discuss. I also feel he spares a kind word when he genuinely feels another is in pain or enduring a difficult time in their lives.

I dunno. I really don;t see the point in this... first you spend days attacking each other and now you have to say something nice to bring the earth back in balance?

Why not accept the fact that people sometimes disagree, or have conflicting personalities? Seems a pretty balanced way of thinking to me.

Perhaps a PM to Pure with some nice words would get rid of any negative feelings?

Beware this is not as meant as a personal attack... you know I admire and respect you and your dedication to this board. I just would like to be convinced that this tread would do any good...

The point is positive energy has been proven to create good health amongst other things...and call me what you will, but I try and see redeeming features in everyone, though at times they may not always shine like a guiding light on a dark and misty night. My motto in life these past years has been there is a positive in every negative and it has served me well in times when others felt I would be human to crumble. I didn't.

I think that there are times that we forget that this forum is one dimensional. We get caught up in a debate that is very specific and highly emotionally charged and then, assume to know someone, know their character by how they exchange posts on that particular thread.

It is comparable to have tunnel vision.
We do not see the entire picture and can easily be drawn into a heated name calling fest.

It can be very good to step out of the discussion, take a look back at other posts or whatever and recognize that one cannot judge another by their posts to a specific thread or topic.

Yes, people may demonstrate a pattern of posting that is distasteful, appears rude, impolite or hurtful, but even then, there is far more to WHO they are beyond hurtful words and black and white text.

So, again, keeping in mind that there is far more to each of us than is represented on the forum is an effective way to keep some perspective.

:)

Triple post!

I will however, take this opportunity to point out that I enjoy Baachlum Charm's postings, his elegance and honesty.

Quadruple post !

Richard 49 is a caring and kind man. It saddens me that we can't be friends anymore.

Quint post!

And perfect time to say that while we haven't shared pm's and seldom post directly to one another, I am really glad Quint is here, posting and feel that Q brings a lot to the forum.

I have not talked that much to any one individual that much. With the exception of one or two people, I find that most people here are nice to each other.

That does not mean that we do not have our differences on some subjects though.

Agreed.....and what a blessing are both the niceties and the differences....both give us more room to grow and evolve.

Happy to offer some good vibrations here if you really feel its needed. I do think it is generally very positive here and I agree, thats a good space to learn in.

Catalina:rose:

True!

If everyone agreed all the time, what is left to learn and how would you do it?

The idea of Stepford Kink is NOT appealing to me.

Aw shucks.... Right back at ya. You're a pretty good kid yerself!

I will say I have enjoyed watching/reading the Marquis/Aeroil teasing. And it is teasing each other in a fun and "happy" way and not bashing each other.

'Course Aeroil strikes me as an infinitely cuddly boy. :D Even though he steals the cookies.

I'd also like to thank MrGGG for his "Try this and report back" thread on the g-spot. I now have something I can use to tell future partners what they need to look for when attempting to find this previously elusive spot.

(Sincerely Not meant as an attack on your post Wolf.) BUT ...... another way to look at it ...

Why not accept the fact that people sometimes disagree, or have conflicting personalities, and then do your (your ..generally speaking) best to credit & take note of the positive traits that person has for offer, rather than concerntrate on those differences, conflicts and disagreeable traits? Now THAT Seems like much more of a pretty balanced way of thinking to me. .... i THINK this is what Catalina was leaning towards in starting this thread.

OOOhhh...this is fun.

Killi is insane like me, and weird and fun, and indefinitely hot (hot x infinity).

Gracie seems like quite possibly the sweetest person on Lit, and is always nice.

Etoile is hot as well, and broadens my understanding of almost any topic she posts in.

sinn0cent1 always expresses her opinions in an eloquent manner, and I wish I could express myself as well as she could.

hrm...

catalina_francisco have a very hot daughter :D

The end for now.

I'd really enjoy seeing Marquis tie up Aeroil :)
