Thought I would start a thread for those who want to lend some positive vibes to any of our posters who may themselves, or have family affected by the huge floods the UK are experiencing right now. It is so sad to see, and to hear of places flooding which have never even come close before. I hope everyone is OK and life returns to normal ASAP. Ah, and of course Gordon Brown says they will continue to build on known flood plains....who said politicians were supposed to be brilliant?!! Our thoughts and positive vibes are with you all, hope you are OK, have fresh water to drink, power, and that none of you are among the ones they say are yet to see the worst of the flooding. :rose:

Hmm, being one to look for positives, it is great to see that those dreaded plastic shopping bags are being put to good use for sandbag barrier building. I always admire the UK for their ability to pull together in times of trouble, remain calm, and get on with it quietly and efficiently no matter how bad things get. :rose:

Sending what positive thoughts I can to all those who are expereincing these troubles and hardships in the UK. I hope you all are safe, dry and warm and that things return to normal as quickly as they can.

Thanks for the thoughts. We've been really lucky where we are so far, but the forecast is for torrential rain over the next few days, so we'll just have to see.

Aww thanks for the well wishes Cat. Its terrible to see how so many people are being hit by the floods. I personally haven't although people a few miles from here are being told to boil all water, for cleaning teeth, drinking etc at the moment for safety.
I know Nax's family has been affected and some of my friends spent a very uncomfortable Friday in their car after the M5 was closed, others had too stay in London after railways were suspended.

Sending good wishes to all affected :rose:

My thoughts are also with those who lives in areas affected by the UK floods.

I saw the M5 problem on the BBC news....unbelievable that some were stuck on the motorway for 24 hours! It seemed all so surreal and reminded me of that episode in the latest series of Dr. Who where people were on the motorway for years. Hope all remain safe and Nax's family get through this OK.

Yeah same here Cat.

On a personal note I'm glad you started this thread. Its made me realise I might have to change my travel plans for visiting my mum this week. I hadn't even thought about it til now

Thanks for the best wishes on the flooding in the UK. We have it had bad where i live. Some people have lost everything they owned. But today the weather has picked up, but for how long its anyones guess. Its about time we got some sunshine.

My heart is with all of you who are affected and/or have loved ones who have been affected. I will keep you in my morning meditations. :rose: Neon (P.S., Cat, thank you for starting this thread.)

I've got a few reports from some UK friends and they are pretty tired of the rain now.
Best wishes to everyone in the UK, may you all stay safe.

My mum called me on friday saying the river running next to their house was at the highest point it has been for 100 years... later on she tells me that if the water is an inch or so higher it comes through the back door.. Luckily my parents are safe and that inch or so was never reached! It was worse for their neighbours though. One had their house flooded, the other parts of their house. The worst my parents had was the garden and driveway. Fingers crossed it does not get that bad again.

Thank you Cat for starting this thread. My thoughts go out to everyone too.

Sending good vibes, prayers, thoughts, etc. to everyone out in the UK. If I could, I'd turn the rain away from them and bring it here. We need it; they won't need anymore for a long time. :(

It so weird, after so many summers of hosepipe bans in some counties, to now be permanately rainy... Like Calyph said, we're in a part that hasn't had flooding so far (thank goodness) but heavy rain is due for us tomorrow night and wednesday :(

We are sick of rain.

The worst has hit the west of England and parts of Wales.

I live in the East which is lucky.

In the west many towns have become islands and cut off from everywhere.

A water treatment plant flooded and around 15,000 homes have no drinking water, which is terrible.

More rain has been promised.

When will the US govt or music industry start up a concert and send some aid to the UK?

Where the hell is Al Gore when you need him?!

Disturbing to view the ongoing footage of the flooding let alone imagine the potential repercussions associated with such. Wishing all safe , hoping it will start to recede soon and that there is more than adequate assistance in all areas that will see people back in their homes/businesses as before :rose:
