Follow the yellow brick road. Follow the yellow brick road.

Follow, follow. follow follow
Follow the yellow brick road.

In the end, that is all you can do. Your yellow brick road is your own. I sincerely believe that if your heart is in the right place- it all turns out right in the end.

You follow the yellow brick road and somehow you wind up home again, only home is not the same. But it isn't so much because home changed, it's because you did.

What does it matter? So your dream is off-beat. So no one really gives a damn (or so you think). You have nothing to prove.

You just have to follow that yellow brick road.

Everyone sleeps in their own skin. Don't worry about them. Think, rather, of your own. Life offers you an incredible journey. It's filled with set-backs and sorrows- but with as many accomplishments and joys. If only we would accept ourselves for who and what we are.

I say "you" but I really mean me.

I am just another of billions.

Next you will be singing that Elton John song..... :)

I've sung it before

But that is just dejection.

A person can't live like that.

Elton John

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man

You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues

So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough

Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

What do you think you'll do then
I bet that'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again

Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

The key is self acceptance...if you can't accept yourself, then you really have a problem accepting others for who they are. Too many people rely on some outside force, be it another person or their religion to help them out, and if it does happen, well its just God's will or God wasn't listening that day. The deal is, God was listening, but God helps those who believe in themselves, and who help themselves. You pray for forgiveness, but what you really want is mercy. Mercy from beating yourself up over and over and over. I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of people on this board suffering from self acceptance issues. It happens to all of us at one time or another. If you can't accept yourself, then it makes it very easy to find faults in others...in fact you could take that to the extreme and hurt another, simply because its fun to play with them. Ah well. I am having a cynical moment...nothing changes until someone grows the maturity to see past it...and for some it may never happen.

You have not been around enough Riff at least not when I have been on the boards.

This is very profound. Inspirational. It make me feel good to read what you wrote. Personally, I struggle. It has never been easy- but that is more a symptom than a disease.

Thanks.

I adore that song!!!

I also love "Tiny Dancer"

I was thinking of something else, but now I am humming "Candle In The Wind."

That whole album rocks.
