I've found it to be a good working definition.

The first one use the word "fiscal" in the first paragraph! I am immediately turned off The "Chardonnay" in the second is far more enticing and inviting! There is also a bit of a difference between "finger fucked her" and ".. finger teasing the outline of my lips"!

I don't prefer one over the other as a general rule, but sometimes I feel more in the mood for one. What puts you in the mood for porn? Or erotica?

Sure that's the difference between the av's but it's not the difference between porn and erotic surely.

Isn't porn erotic? Isn't erotica still called soft porn?

It seems to me the words are interchangable and erotica becomes porn when the acts stop being soft and start being hardcore.

Ex: A picture of a woman with a silk robe on that is half open and her nipples are slightly peeking out of the sides gazing at you with her deep, arousing eyes. Picture the same woman but now she's squeezing her breast roughly and spreading her lips with her fingers, her back arched, eyes shut tight with her mouth open as if crying out. Is this when it stops being erotica and starts being porn?

I find erotica easier on my eyes. It's more intimate than porn.

When I look at erotica I think of lust, love, beauty and the poetry of the human form.

When I look at porn I think of casual sex, hardness, roughness, getting your rocks off.

I enjoy each at different times. Sometimes I just need relief right now, porn gets me off faster.
Other times I want to think about it, enjoy the small details, fantasize and imagine myself in the situation, erotica gives me more room to work with.

I agree, porn is erotic. But it's porn, not erotica. I'm just wondering how you 'define' when erotica becomes porn. Every one 'knows' (though what people know can differ) when they see it, but can you describe the difference? Is it really just pink bits? I think it's more in the depiction of sexuality, but I can't put my finger on the right words. KM's definition was good, as far as it went.

Of course.

I agree with the timing. I want porn when I need release. It's a masturbation aid. Erotica is something I like in a more general way, reveling in the miracle of love, or the human form. Often arousing, but always expaning my senses.
