LOL we own 22+ head of horses (I lost count)

A little less than half of those are bred mares...2 studs....and the rest are yearlings/2 year olds we are in the process of halter breaking or to ride and sellling.

We had one stillborn this year unfortunately and one open mare (meaning she was supposed to be bred but for some unknown reason did not take the breeding. It was her first breeding though so that is not all that unusual.)

Here is one of last years colts that I am keeping and gelding to make a riding horse for myself...I LOVE this baby. His name is Hancock's Harry Potter because of the lightening bolt mark on his neck. (Buster Hancock is our stud so most of the babies have Hancock in their registered names)

We keep LLamas with the horses as they are excellent pasture guards against predators...they are very very very mean to anything that dares approach their babies.

Beautiful babies...and as to horses, I love them but then I can't think of one creature I dislike, and definately don't hate anything or anyone. Think our family is just in love with animals and creatures of all shapes and sizes.

I guess spiders fill a necessary role but I wouldn't be upset if they all died out. Same with flies, misquotes, gnats, chiggers, roaches, and anything that stings.

Nah, they all have their place in the big scheme of things and without them we would have more problems than imagineable....besides, they still can be cute and interesting as well.

Horses are so BIG that they kind of scare me though as a girl I wanted one. I wanted one real bad! A few years ago I had an horse accident that resulted in a damned concussion. I need to get back on one.

But cats are part of my soul. A cat's purr is the most soothing sound in the world to me.
