this is an awesome story that i love to tell.

one of my closest friends in middle/high school was this guy who lived with his older brother and their mom. the older brother always had porn magazines stashed in their bathroom and under his bed (all the great ones... high society, oui, cheri, etc.). from the age of about 12 or 13 my friend and i would ogle them in amazement. once we got used to seeing pictures of nude women we discovered how great the stories were.

the best part, though, was that when my friend and i were about 15 or so, his brother started designating wednesday as "porno night." ya see, this was the night their mother went to church (she was a born again christian... lmao) so we had the house to ourselves. my friend's brother would go to the video store and get two or three tapes. one was always a classic (behind the green door, deepthroat, et al) and the other would be a newer one. these were the days of traci lords, seka, ginger lynn, kristara barrington, heather wayne, christy canyon... i loved being introduced to all the greats.

Actually, it makes perfect sense to me. I know the difference when I see it, though I tend to find it hard to explain.


When I was little (I don't remember how old I was), I came across a copy of a late 70's Playboy at my grandparents' house. Nobody seemed overly concerned. My grandmother let me look at it, but she kept it away from my brother. Then it disappeared--or my grandfather just did a better job of hiding stuff like that when we were around.

In the early/mid 80's, my dad used to watch The Playboy Channel and other soft-core stuff, but he'd never wait for my brother and me to go to bed. Every time we'd leave our bedrooms to go into the kitchen, he'd get all pissy because he'd have to scramble to change the channel.

I didn't watch porn until after I was married at age 20. My (now-ex) husband rented one because he thought I'd been a little too sheltered.

Wow! you are so young I was about that age when I first read Justine, I think, its hard to remember so long ago, LOL I have always read books anywhere I am, I read a bunch of Victorian pornography when I was growing up that were around the house, I saw my friend's brothers playboys when I was maybe 7 or 8, I like the Moses Dave (?) cartoons but otherwise they seemed pretty dull. Oh there were books/storyboards(?) from "I am curious yellow" (and purple).

I remember reading some pretty hot Ovid and Catullus in Latin Japanese pillow books, a bunch of Richard Burton's books, Sade, an annotated song of Solomon, I don't remember what all. I guess we had a lot of historical pornography around the house. Most of the houses I stayed in had erotic "literary" I have been surrounded by books my entire life, the erotica was just a small part of it, but I guess it was there.

I agree, in general, that stories are so much more interesting than most films I have seen, most porn films are pretty dead, certainly duller than my imagination together with the printed word.

The first read erotic movie that I noticed in a sexual way was "A thousand and one Arabian nights" in the late 70's which was shot all over the middle east and Himalayans, a year or two later I fell mainly in love with a wonderful guy who looked like one of the actors

I was about 12 or 13 when I saw my first porn, if you call Playboy Magazine porn. My two buddies and I were playing in one of their basements on a rainy afternoon in the summer when we came upon his dad's stash of Playboys.
