Isolated in the circling light,
he consults his notes,
mops his brow
and peers out blindly.
"Now?"
Tentative applause,
perhaps encouragement is unwise,
dangerous even but he is off,
eyes unfocused, toes curling.
"Sir Ego Libido" someone whispers
a little too loud to giggling response,
if he hears he doesn't miss a beat.
Using words we never knew
could sound this way,
they silence us at once,
make us close our eyes for visions
none of us care to share.

bumping this up because it's a lovely poem and I want anna banana to tell us who's right... The poet deserves some attention on this piece.

She's around again, too. Yay! She wrote a lovely poem in the not sure thread yesterday (I think yesterday). It's great to read her anytime. :)

I knew it was poeTess because I read that poem as I was trying to find a cento line. :) She's got gorgeous words...

I'm really quite flattered people thought it was mine. Maybe it was the use of the Freudian terms that lead them astray.
