One of the cable news stations during an interview; I paraphrase, “Not a single shovel will be lifted; no Construction Union workers will work on this project…”

This story has been around for a while now and until recently, broke along Partisan lines, with the Right being opposed and the Wrong being in favor. Recently, however, their have been several notable breaks in the ranks of both Parties, and over the weekend, the White House waded in and out again and the brouhaha is on.

The reasons for support or opposition are most interesting, as the ‘Wrong’ Party has actually supported private property rights, which they seldom do, and the Right, in some cases, states Religious Freedom as a foundation.

It becomes more complex with issues of Sharia Law and affiliation with Terrorist Organizations alleged to be tied to the Imam that is spearheading the effort to build the Mosque/Community Center, two blocks from Ground Zero. It is also said that no Muslims live within a mile of the proposed project, and there are over a hundred Mosques in the area.

Why are you wasting your time along with everyone else's tempers with a non-event like this?

A non event? Only to you with your head up your ass. Every news channel, cable and Broadcast outlet and Newspaper have been covering it for weeks; there is public outcry all across the Nation, with protest marches in several cities.

Go back to your sissy thread and play with yourself.

I agree.

I love the use of the right and wrong phrase..perfect way to show intolerance and fear mongering. you can't preach about free speech on one hand and then defend profiling a mosque as a terrorist den.

As more information comes out (instead of emotional opinions, which are mostly worthless compared to facts), it reinforces the thought that it's highly insensitive to even -want- to build a mosque on the site. The whole "rebuilding what was there" or "in the name of religious tolerance" does not seem to have a whole lot of weight. If the Imam was interested in growing tolerance, he'd build elsewhere.

It is only free speech to those who agree with you I guess. Better wind up the RUSH LIMBAUGH BOBBLEHEAD..that should calm you down.

Why are people legitimizing this topic? His title is all fucked up and shit-stirring and you guys think words will work on him? Hah!

Look at it from a centrist point of view: it's not profiling to consider the desire to build a mosque there to be in ultra-poor taste. Sure, the terrorists weren't the same Islam worshipers as those who want to build the mosque, but that doesn't make the issue any less sensitive. Doesn't wisdom dictate that they move elsewhere? I mean what part of "let's stir up resentment by building here" sounds like a good idea?

Well said point, Kev H, one that has been repeated throughout the news spectrum over the past few days.

It is called the 'Cordoba' Project, named to honor a Muslim victory in long ago Spain, where a Mosque was built over the ruins of a Christian Church.

The Imam involved, is the same one who said the United States was to blame for 9/11 because of our support of Israel and our involvement in Middle East affairs.

The Amercan people are making their opinions heard; that to build the Mosque that close to the site of nearly 3,000 people killed by Islamic Terrorists, is a travesty.

A well thought out remark...

....and worth considering. It is a shame that the mostly quiet Muslims who go about thier business and simply want to practice their chosen religion and thrown in as terrorists...

You people are no fun. Arguing over misdirection and misinformation, giving the terrorists what they want. No, not the Muslim terrorists. The political topic junkies. They are terrorizing this place, taking a cool place to hang out and sucking the fun right out of it. Sigh...

This is a porn board. One of us is in the right place. The other? Not so much...

Funny, I thought this was the Literotica Author's Hangout where author's (I am one) talked about whatever they wanted to?

Many here do not consider their works to be Pornography, nor are they obsessed with perversions; most have a healthy sexual outlook on life and realize that sex is only part of life.

you may be right..just get tired of hearing the outrage over nothing all the time....the big mouths with nothing to say except ...fear this...hate this..watch out for them...are taking over again.

You can talk about anything you want to. I don't like the fact that your topic is a debate about lies. So I am going to bitch, moan, and derail your topic with as much nonsense as you or anyone else puts into it.

The door swings both ways, and I'm crossing the motherfucking streams.

Hello and welcome mrtomthumb, I am always the bad guy here, which you may hove noticed; and that is so because I demand truth and rationality in my exchanges with others.

Sharia Law an intrinsic part of the Koran and Islamic religious practices, advocates beheading of both the man and the woman for adultery. It also demands stoning to death of a woman who has sex ouside marriage.

Further, Islamic customs relegates women in general, to slave status, with no rights as an individual.

This should be a slam dunk for any rational person and raises questions as to why the Left/Wrong advocates who champion women's rights to abortion, would be so tolerant of a truly evil religion.

Just out of curiosity. Where is 9/11 and how would they have built anything there in the first place?

Hahahahahaha! You're funny. Wait, no you aren't. you are sad. Thinking this is worth debate when there are serious issues facing the people of the world today, like whether or not to eat some vegetables...

It's not a mosque, it's a community center. Huge difference.

I wish like hell people would pay attention instead of just passing on false information (no offense to you, Kev, but I've heard just about enough about this stupid topic).

America was founded on the principle of freedom of religion, not just if Christians approve of your religion.

A family member of mine died in the twin towers that day, and I don't have a problem with a muslim community center at all.

You don't have a horse in this race, amicus. You're only peddling your hatred yet again. You've become so fucking boring. Please go somewhere else, and bother other people. Your shit is old, tired, and so dated that you've made yourself a parody.

Would someone take the time to educate this, ahm, gentleman, as to the whereabouts of the Twin Tower's, when they were destroyed and the location of the proposped Mosque, two blocks away...a Google Earth close-up would do, but I will not take the time.

And, I note that you cannot point out a single error in my OP, but then, since you know nothing about the topic, I shall assume you are a shill for the censorship crowd.

It's not a mosque, it's a community center.

And why were they only going to build 9/11 of it? Why weren't they going to complete it? Were they going to leave out the doors? the windows? The electricity?

So, they are building things on dates now? How is that even possible? Oh my god! They are building the whole place the day before my birthday! It's a surprise construction just for me! Glee!

you know nothing about the topic

I know it isn't a topic for national media. It should be up for debate by the building department and the neighbors within a 200 foot radius (maybe 500 foot depending on the local codes).

I know more than I look :nana:
