Republicans will dominate the midterms elections in November, reclaiming the House and Senate, Politico predicted Tuesday.

While it is less of a surprise that Republicans are predicted to reclaim the House, it is more surprising the Senate is projected to “lean” Republican. If both forecasts come true, the Republicans will have an opportunity to conduct oversight and investigate the origins of the pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the invasion at the southern border, and whether or not President Biden should be impeached.

On the plus side, it will end the "break back voter" spending proposals. On the minus side, 2020 will see a rush of desperation to pass bad bills before doomsday.

If crime and inflation decline the Democrats still have a chance. Otherwise Politico is probably right.

If Politico was any good at predictions Hillary would be in her second term. But, even a broken clock is right twice a day...

Politico predicted that Hillary would win a slight majority in the popular vote, and she did.

Politico is pretty good at predictions. Hillary lost by a very, very narrow margin and for some reason people harp on this. Nobody had Hillary in a blow out, it was just agreed that she was above in the polls by a margin of error.

Just being on that end of the seesaw puts the Repubs in the lead. Few gamblers would bet on the Dems now, but there's still betting on the spread.

I haven't looked to see what specific races are happening this year, the only reason I wouldn't bet on a complete blow out is the Right are being SO toxic that I can't imagine so called centrists deciding that this is a year to sit out when it most definitely is not. I mean Kentucky and Texas effectively banned abortions in their states, several more are passing restrictive voting laws (though I can see why people might ignore that), there was no real reason to attack Disney and we're officially at a point where Millenials are enough of a bloc that we could do real damage.

Then you've got Majorie Taylor Green who is trying to pretend, under oath, that CNN made up a quote for her. One they have video of. Matt Gaetz is under investigation and considering the Right is calling the Left groomers it should just be in every conversation "Hey what ever happened to that 17 year old you fucked? Did you ever get that sorted, like she had a fake ID or something?

Oh they won't but Dems won't filibuster anyhow so they won't need it. We've been down this road under Obama and under Bush. When the time comes if they even get a 52/48 majority the Dems will do the right thing and let business continue. You don't hold your breath like a petulant child until you get what you want. We're already seeing it. Nobody cares that Gaetz is a literal sex trafficker. Not the right who only care about sex traffic as it relates to illegal immigration (and they quietly let you believe its little blonde girls getting smuggled to Mexican Drug Lords not Lolitas getting sent to Gaetz n Friends.), not groomers or sexualization of kids as again whose talking about Gaetz? The Left on the other hand knows that would just be beneath the belt and that's its better to lose than it is to lose your honor.

That's just dumb.
Not really. John was talking about Hispanics whom he knew. Think about it: probably no one he's on speaking terms with likes Black people very much, no matter their own ethnicity.

He doesn't know anyone. He spends his time reading books that make him feel good about his racism and writing reviews about them for his "friends" in Amazon.

I’m not worried about any significant new spending legislation getting rushed through before the November elections. We still have a 50/50 Senate. Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema are still there. An increasing number of vulnerable Democrats up for re-election are getting cold feet due to rising inflation. And most importantly, there are not many days left on the legislative calendar.

I would worry that those two will grow balls since the Left has little room for them.
