It seems that both of the major parties are intent on committing suicide. The Republicans more so than the democrats for the time being. Tone deaf and disconnected from the populace they blunder on to their own demise.

The Republicans are playing with but a single empty chamber right now. They, along with the press, didn't take Trump seriously and expended a tremendous amount of venom on Cruz early in the campaign cycle. Now that Cruz is the only potential candidate that can stop Trump they find themselves having crippled their own salvation from the 'Trumpster.' Now they are talking about a brokered convention, an act that is sure to inflame an electorate already seething with anger over the 'entitled to rule' (as opposed to govern) attitude of the DC elites.

The Democrats are hardly in better shape. They just happen to have three empty cylinders in their particular revolver. The same seething anger with the parties political elite has also infected the Democrats. The rise of Bernie is clear evidence of that phenomena. Bernies followers are energetic and motivated whereas those that are pulling the lever for "The Criminal" are lackluster and merely following the program. The number don't lie and enthusiasm for the democrat offerings for candidates is on the wane.

The road is wide open for the formation of a viable 3rd party, perhaps even a fourth. No wonder the DC power brokers are shitting their pants.

There is also another alternative, although remote, still within the realm of possibility. And that is out and out revolution. The disconnect between the people and those that would be King is so great at this point in time that the possibility cannot be ruled out. People on all sides of the political spectrum are disgusted and feeling disenfranchised by those that they elected to represent them.

DC forgot that they are servants, not dictators.

As they are the Party in power and the Party of the Bureaucracy, as well as that of Wall Street, pretty much every every cylinder is empty for the Democrats. Perhaps turnout will be depressed. I posted an op-ed earlier examining the turnout and results in Missouri, which, except for 1956, has voted for the winning candidate. In Missouri, Trump beats Clinton big, looking at the numbers...

The elites will survive this round, just as Hillary will avoid indictment.

If, I mean when, we have the next big bubble burst,

:(

then maybe violence; the Left has already begun.

The elites are fucked. They got no base and no one to bankroll them.

teh Repoz had great accomplished people running

that they got no traction is a shame

that teh DUMZ run CuntClinton and BzerkBernie is grotesque

I read that op-ed. Right along with the op-ed Toubab posted re. the Bernie-Trump switch. What I get from those article in aggregate is the overall dissatisfaction with the ruling elite. Then throw in the fact that the Republican party and the press spent the first six months of the cycle turning Cruz into damaged goods.

On the other side of the political fence "the criminal" IS damaged goods. Should she manage to avoid indictment (still a 50-50 proposition no matter what the cynics think) the fall out from that non-event is going to damage her even further (no matter what her cheering section thinks). I disagree that all the democrats chambers are empty, they are facing the same problem, just not as obvious or as well covered.

this is interesting

IT’S HER SUPERB “RAISIN IN THE SUN” FAUX-ACCENT: Clinton Owes Her Commanding Lead to African-American Women.

More than any other demographic group, black women are the reason Hillary Clinton has racked up a 2 million-vote lead on Bernie Sanders and, more important, a 300-point advantage among pledged delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

The bedrock of her winning campaign is African-American women, and, as a group, these women seem pretty damn determined to vote for her.

“They are the absolute heart of the party,” Jaime Harrison, the South Carolina Democratic Party chairman said of African-American women in a comment posted on Sidewire (the political communication platform I work for). “Hillary is their BFF.”

The connection isn’t lost on Clintonworld. Her last two major ads featured the “Mothers of the Movement” who lost children in killings involving police and ABC television luminaries Shonda Rhimes, Viola Davis and Kerry Washington, all of whom (in case you’ve been living on a television-free planet) are black.

It is not common for a presidential candidate to run ads that feature an all-African American cast — or, in the case of the ABC stars’ ad, a mostly African-American cast. Ellen Pompeo of “Grey’s Anatomy,” who is white, was also in the spot.

Hmm. What percentage of the electorate are African-American women?

I cannot wait for Trump to take her on.

;)

It's been a long time, if ever, that the Republicans have returned in kind the lies, misinformation and character assassination of the Democrat Party. The last elites, McCain and Romney left valuable cards on the table to prove they were reasonable, moderate, centrist and electable, the adults in the room. The Democrats have never held to that standard, they are more than willing to go personal and start screaming about the things and "rights" that Republicans will take away from them.

<derp snip>

Crass revisionism.

Ted Cruz's unpopularity is entirely self-inflicted. The man went out of his way to alienate the Republican party because he has always.....ALWAYS....put his own personal ambitions ahead of his party's needs.

He is the ultimate narcissist.

I don't think this election race is anywhere near as ugly as 1968, Ish.

Not by a long stretch!

I said NOTHING

Just said it was INTERESTING

Right?

So your POINT IS WHAT?

Regardless of how you slice it niggers are 12-15% of the population. Not enough. 33% of America are white trailer trash working at WALMART. White trash got shit from Obama and the GOP.

75% of America is white. But the GOP luvs Muslims and illegals and niggers more than whites.

I was thinking that...and I think Trysail is forcasting another record-breaking hot, dry summer for much of the USA.

But 1968 is still going to be difficult to surpass.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_in_the_United_States

I remember it.

My hippy cousins used to drag me to war-protests.

Unlike #BlackLiversMatter, they were armed only with flowers, pot, signs and mantras...

That is what makes me wonder about the nature of the election, the rhetoric in '68 was about peace, love and non-violent protests of disruption whereas the rhetoric of this election cycle includes kill cops...

Then again, there was Bill Ayers, friend of Obama, so you might have a point.

;)

But, we may get bombings. The Left sees how deferential the elites have become to Islam and it's leading gambit is the bomb.

There were a few big name assassinations in '68.

These New Malcontents have their work cut out for them.

Your point was WHAT?

That skin color has often figured in your posts for no apparent reason. In fact, I seem to recall the word 'nigger' has appeared quite prominently in your posts as well. That's my point.

As predictable as teh tides, whenever there is a weak Republican candidate in a presidential election year, teh LordOfTheGook predicts riotin' in the streets and chaos in teh opposition party.

I think they may be up to the task, but they will use the South American methodology of eliminating lower-level targets creating a vacuum which they will fill...

;) ;) :D

I don't need your civil war!
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor...

AJ the NotRepublican, loves to tell people about how blacks thought in the '60's and how The Left thinks today.
Think is a relevant term when it comes to AJ the NotRepublican, but you can pick up what I'm puttin' down.

Hillary is easily the weakest Democrat candidate since Snoopy drove the tank in 1988.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is almost a Republican tradition. It wouldn't take much to beat The Beast, but unfortunately it looks like the GOP may very well screw the pooch once again.
