In the interests of conservation of band width, server space, etc, I have decided to create this thread. You are only allowed to post here if you have one of two opinions.

1) The U.S. is evil incarnate. Every action, including the American Revolution was part of a crafty evil conspiracy to run rough-shod over everybody on the planet who is not American. The U.S. is greedy, avaricious, does nothing for anybody, and acts based entirely upon its own self interest. Atrocities on either a global or local scale are done solely by the U.S. out of spite towards everybody else because Americans are greedy selfish, rat-bastards. Every American action is governed by the most foul intentions and the desire to fuck up everybody else. Nuking is to good for them.

2) The U.S. is the saint and martyr of the world. Americans give selflessly. Every single action since the American Revolution has been governed by painstaking thought and an overwhelming desire to better the lot of the rest of the world. Sometimes bad things happen, but the bad things are necessary to bring the rest of those poor souls into greater enlightenment and awareness. The U.S. never has bad thoughts, words or deeds. Americans just want the rest of the world to be happy and carefree.

You may fire when ready.

What exactly is dreat?

A fucking typo. Be nice. Americans hate it when you point out there mistakes. Of course, they never make any, so the point is really moot.

If I think that all the evil in the world is caused by capitalists exploiting everyone else through a secret society that has infiltrated the US government and now runs it, am I on the right track?

What if I believe that technology is evil and that we ought to liberate Ted Kazinsky and appoint him as the supreme leader of the world so that we can all live in rough wood outhouses in the forest? Is that good?

Of course, we'll have to go on a massive campaign to cut forests to create all those wooden outhouses for the entire population of the world. Is that environmentally friendly? Is guess, we'll be OK if we can use sawdust to make processed wood and we don't use any power tools.

Are you bitch-slapping yourself, LTGR?

If so, please don't stop on my account... :D

Like everything is black and white:rolleyes:

Dreating threads may just become a new fad.;)

A dreat is a small woodland creature with soft fur and horns. They're generally friendly. However, if you bring up politics, their noses turn bright red and they bite you on the ankle.

This is not a typo but ignorance.

Sure why not? Its a very popular view. Personally, I would have figured you as the type to blaze an unfollowed trail though.

Can't you post option b) - a combination of the two? ;)

Now, now, Freya... playing nice and being reasonable is clearly not fair in a "bitch-slapping" thread... :D

It is if you are totally color blind and are comfortable with the assumption that gray is a part of the whole black white spectrum.

I agree with this. I can not possibly answer in either the first or the second options entirely. The USA has done great deeds and bad ones. And, depending upon the point in time in the historical spectrum...

I would have opposed revolution in 1776.
I would have supported war in 1812.
I would have opposed war in 1846.
I would have opposed seccession in 1860.
I would have opposed war in 1898.
I would have opposed war in 1917.
I would have supported war in 1941.
I would have supported war in 1950.
I would have supported war in Vietnam.
I supported war in 1990.
I support war now.

I don't care much for revolutions. Nor, for wars. All are rather tiresome and costly. However, sometimes they are necessary I suppose.

Damn fence sitters. For once just jump in and take a completely unreasonable position.
