Look around your environment and choose an object, something you know will be there for the next 5 days. In other words, don't choose a car parked on the street. It could be a painting on your wall, table, your cat, etc.

Now, for the next 5 days, write a different poem each day about the object. Describe how it looks to you. Make your reader see every detail of this object. It will become more challenging each day, but you will stretch and flex those poetic muscles.

Please feel free to share your poetry in this thread.

I found something odd in my bedroom. I'm not going to tell you what it is, but I will write about it. At the end of 5 days, I'll post a photo of it. :)

Earlier, I said let your reader see every detail. But remember to give us more than "it is 7 inches long and dark brown and square." Be descriptive, yet poetic. I want to know the way the light falls on it and the shadows it casts, how its texture is like the skin on your lover's shoulder, and so on.

I think that's a great idea! I doubt I'll have the courage to share, but I'll definitely be writing. :)

Oh, calm down! It's not a dildo--this time.

yah. I got stuff. I'll pick some stuff and write. yah.

Min, if you really want to be my groupie, you'd better share.

Well, oh God! I would have to pick some odd, unspeakably freakish thing to write about.
This is harder than I thought. Anyway, here's my first, lame attempt.

A palm over its surface is less gentle tone
than fingers adoring skin.
Salmon shades cling to my hand
as I balance then shift, turning
to see the moon of the sun.

Why do you get a groupie? I'm more worthy of groupies now that I'm part of an oval or whatever shape we've decided on.

You know, for someone asking for groupies, you've got a lot of rules. ;)

How about a big fat MAYBE? Can I still be your groupie?

My piece of stuff.

1998 today. 1958 tomorrow.
2004? Well, yesterday.
My time machine will fill this room
carousel me close and far
but still strain
an elastic cord
that snaps me back
when my digits are up
this time.

Now, that's good stuff.
I want to change my object. It's too disturbingly cute and perverted to write about! I want to write about toilet paper or a shoestring.

*muttering* Damn...back to the drawing board...

duh, this might be an interesting piece...

my place

polished pewter
crystal glow
sword glancing the floor
assured pose.

sultry stance
laid back
on dragons wings
cape furred to soften scales
underneath

shield to the side
not a reflection
nor deflection
but a picture of ease

hair strewn
asleep in lazy trellis
cascading layers
thigh high boots
barely nude

and above claims her master
emerald eye
flames emblazed
surrounding
ever protector

an icon of
birth of supplication

Sun fading shows from time spent out in the open
Decorating my wooden server while laughter abounds
Tears have been spilt, some were sad and others gladden
Pictures speak a thousand words if listening to the sounds.

(More to come)

Peer pressure!!!

You know, there's a reason I read and not write ;)

Suck it in, baby
Keep me sane
Keep me here

Slip between my lips,
My fingers;
Fill me up.

Suck it in, baby
Keep me sane
Keep me here

Lest I follow you off into the ether

Edited to add: Wow! That's really, really bad! :D

bled dry, useless
why do you leave me here
over dust under basket?

as a reminder
of what has been given
to feed your madness?

a record of the bleached sheets
punched or twisted
at your will?

Here goes. Two cookies and a Diet Sprite to the first one to guess what it is.

Under my fingers -
Warm, soft, silken.
Source of pleasure.
Object of affection.

In my palm -
Hard, round, full.
Source of promise.
Object of power.

Under my heel -
Hot, wet, unfulfilled.
Source of submission.
Object of control.

Within my body -
Expansive, straining, bursting.
Source of pleasure.
Object of affection.

This shouldn't be, um, HARD, to figure out.

Hugs,

Kat
