My biggest problem with posting poems here is the visual formatting of a poem.

Indented lines, broken lines, trailing words, concrete poetry: they all seem impossible to achieve here without resorting to more HTML code than I'm comfortable with, and a lot of my stuff depends on visual layout for effect.

Is there any way to achieve this or any format to submit in that would preserve the original layout of a poem?

That has indeed been a problem, but lately, we've been getting some very interesting examples of non-conventional formatting. Posted today, we have RazzRajen's Abyss; two days ago, Rybka's Tides. For even more extreme formats, check Rybka's Transitions, Angeline's Gimme Gimme Time Zone and my own Neverending Signs. The options are endless.

Why don't you show us an example of what you want? Probably someone will find out a way to do it.

*L* But how can I send you a formatted poem? Can I send it to you as an MSWord file?
