i was wondering if there were any rules to what you could write about in your poems, i have 1 poem that i want to submit, its non-erotic and about a girl getting revenge. she kills the guy in the end and i was just wondering if i should edit it out or make it more subtle?

Nah. Go right ahead. We have poems here on almost every subject matter under the sun, and some of it pretty damn dark.

Yeah what he said. As long as you don't make a direct threat to anyone here, which is against Lit's forum rules, you're fine.

There are no rules. This presents a problem sometimes, but always works out for the best.

If your images are clear and the feeling is well expressed, there is no need for subtlety. There is no reason revenge, murder and death cannot be erotic.
