Hi all,

I'm starting an erotica/romance podcast and I want to post the first two episodes in the audio section of LitErotica.

Will I be allowed to mention in the audio that more episodes can be found on Spotify/my Patreon or is that in violation of promoting outside platforms/links?

Thank you for any and all info! I couldn't find a direct answer in previous threads or the FAQ so I thought I'd directly ask. Apologies for any redundancies!

This wouldn't be permitted most likely.

I also have a podcast on writing erotica I started last year and while we might put up some outtakes here for the fun of it (think a compilation of me laughing and him saying my name to try and get me back on track from wherever my mind wandered off to), we wouldn't link off site to our main page. Do that in your profile and signature line only but don't tell people in the text area to check your profile for links to your space outside of Lit. They either check on their own or they don't.

In all honesty...do we need MORE podcasts?

It seems everyone has one, everyone is on everyone else's podcast talking about their podcast.

Podcasts about podcasts about future podcasts with other podcasters.

There's a vicious circle developing.

To be fair, mine is as unprofessional as it gets. Grim and I just realized we were already talking writing about 4 hours every week and decided to record it. Then decided to do some story reviews, cover some writing topics, and we have a series on kinks going now. NecessaryDeviance/Grimwood is editing our season 2 recordings now and we're recording season 3
... Or maybe 4 I'm not sure how many he's behind on editing since life decided to fuck us both over late last year.

Not trying to stop people doing it. Just a concern!

What's the concern?

It's literally no different than writing erotica. It's a hobby, let people enjoy things even if the "market" is oversaturated. Much like writing here, every little niche finds their audience.

Adding:

As long as AI isn't involved, stories aren't being read without permission, and writers are notified before the review airs. (We flubbed on that last one at first. I thought he was notifying authors and he thought I was, I sent out messages to everyone as soon as I realized. We've also had a great reception from authors to our reviews so far. But we also only review things at least one of us liked and have two reviews that will be hidden behind a paywall because things got heated, lol.)
