PM Do's and Don'ts

DO:

Always copy your PMs to the clipboard before you hit send because sometimes dickheads don't empty out their PM boxes and you might lose a carefully written PM to cyberspace.

It's a bad idea to send your reply in a hot, hot, hot cybersex PM encounter to your entire buddy list.

Don't PM someone who you don't know about how stupid the rules are on Lit. The rules are pretty good, and no matter how good your argument is, just because she happens to have a large number of posts it doesn't mean she can change them.

If you have your system set to show PMs from only the last 5 days and you take a few weeks off from Lit, it's always a good idea to check ALL of your PMs. This saves embarrassing apologies for your inattention and bad manners.

If you are PM'ing someone with whom you haven't visited on a thread explain why you are PM'ing them.

For those of us who feel obliged to respond to any reasonable PM's we are at a loss sometimes as to how to respond.

Yes, I get PMs from names I do not at all recognize. Sometimes they just say, "Wanna have some fun?"

I give them the benefit of the doubt in case they hit my name by mistake and ask who they are and why they are asking me. No problems yet, but I think perhaps they think PMs are like chat rooms.

Another related to sending to your entire buddy list, make sure you are sending the pm to the specific person you intended to. It's easy to click on the wrong person's pm button, especially if you happen to be talking about them!

Don't be a Dickhead

Clean out your pm box regularly. That is the third damn time this month that has happened. Nope, I am not a whore, just a pm whore at times. LOL, sometimes when that little notification thing doesn't pop up I fail to look and see if I have pm's.

Don't send nude pictures through pm's. You never know who else might see them.

Double check, as stated above, the recipient because lord knows I have sent the wrong pm a few times and some one got a I'm gonna spank you for that, when she is a conservative person more or less. LOL. A bit shocked and rather interesting reply followed.
