PM Christmas Wishes to Someone You Don't Know!

This is something that went around for a while last year here on the GB and I thought it was absolutely splendid. I don't take any credit for originating the idea. Someone will do their homework and remind me who the inventor of this was (and forgive me in advance for forgetting, save that I remember that the person in question is sweet beyond what you see from a room full of people) and I'll thank them. I will take credit for remembering it, though.

Here's what happens. Find five or ten or more people with whom you don't have regular contact and send them a short little PM. Wish them a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Wondrous Equinox - whatever. Just let them know that you appreciate them (whether you do or not. Kindly deceit is welcome this time of year) and that you're wishing them the very best for the coming year. If you've a mind to, spend a moment telling them why they caught your attention.

In short, spread some love to places you don't usually spread it.

You don't have to PM relative strangers either. If there's someone to whom you haven't spoken in a while, make a point of sending them a little message. Reaquaint yourself with them and maybe you'll see the vibrant person you once knew. The goal here is to send your best wishes to them which will make them smile a little. In return, you'll get to smile, too, having given a little kindness unasked.

Make someone smile. Sprinkle a litle joy to some folks who richly desrve it, in your estimation. And above all, have fun with it. :)

That's a really nice idea, Jim. And since I don't know very many people here that well, I have lots to choose from!

starting with you.....

It might help to keep a list...

I remember doing this On Valentines and I couldn't remember who had gotten what and if I had sent a return note. Very confusing stuff.

(Glad to see you here, Jim)

((Ok, really going to bed now.))

I love sending out random pm's.
A wonderful way to get to know people a little better or just let them know they are "seen" around here.

Don't make this just a one-day thing either. Make a point between now and Christmas of sending at least one every time you log onto Lit. :)

Fabulous Idear, JMJ...and another reason why I  you.

Merry Merry, all.

Off to PMland!

Jim, I think you just single handedly saved my sanity for the night. All the negativity everywhere brings people down and this post is a great idea! Thanks for the uplift from the fighting that has been going on in these boards. I have been wanting to post but afraid to with all the other stuff going on. :(

What a wonderful idea and I do love to send out PMs, I've just gotten out of the habit lately. Thanks for remembering this Jim!!!

Jim, once again thanks for this idea! I sent off a few pm's last night and I got messaged back by everyone except for one! And then I logged on today and I had 2 people pm me and welcomed me to Lit and offered help with anything I may need. It put a smile on my face and makes me feel more comfortable around here. Really helps make the Christmas Spirit shine through!

:rose:  for Jim and his idea!

Is there a mid-morning shift?

Heck, who knows. Bump for the folks who only read Page One!

Nor did I, for the most part. What a nice little ice-breaker this is. :)
