I have bought regular clothes from The Avenue. I am not as happy with their clothes as I am with other companies. I keep getting the impression that they want us to dress like OLLLLLD FRUMPY women... I wonder where they decided that curves were NOT sexy. SHOES>>>>> oh fun (goes to find some that she wants).

in case anyone is interested, this is the thread about 'diversity' in depictions of women, and in the last pages, many pictures, included some in lingerie, were offered by the several different points of view. the issues of size and sexiness was aired.

i don't have much to add, except i note that Jessica Alba, who's pretty rail-like overall, was just voted sexiest woman alive by some magazine. my point about her is that American men, in the last 30-40 years, apparently like the butt of a 14 year old boy, on their 'sex symbols.'

Thanks for a great little thread. I bought a corduroy jacket from The Avenue. Am I old and frumpy now? Anyone else know where to find plus size jackets in cotton or wool?

Mostly I just window shop online for fear of the size not being right or the pictures not being representative. When serious about buying, I usually go to Catherines and Lane Bryant since if I see something I like online, there's a store less than an hour away.

Maybe not quite on topic, but I love the bear logo at Barbara's Large and Lovely.
