Hi everyone! I hope that this finds you well.
I think we all agree that things can seem very contentious right now amongst folk in terms of political opinions, and discourse.
This is why I instituted and encouraged the policy about politics in Literotica Chat: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/regarding-politics-in-chat.1616001/

People who come here do so to socialize and interact with each other, often with an eye to the erotic, certainly.
That being said, if people can not have a *mostly* civil conversation about things, there is really no benefit to our visitors to encourage that. Literotica has a very active Politics board, and as mentioned in the above linked post, you can start your own room as long as you don't devolved into name calling and the like.

Also, just remember that it's important to remember that *other people exist*. They deserve the same respect you'd expect to have shown to you. Everyone comes here for the same reasons, and it can sometimes be hard to remember that when we are feeling some kind of way about this or that.

This is the Literotica Terms of Service: https://www.literotica.com/resources/tos
It is full of useful information regarding Literotica's approach to dealing with issues vs. the responsibilities that visitors are expected to observe when on the site.
Rules 12-16 are things that moderators are often aware of when approaching people about issues or dealing with specific situations. Rule 13 specifically states:

  • 13. The webmasters of Literotica reserve the right to remove any content or user from the site for any, or no, reason at anytime.
That's being posted here because I think users can get confused about the service we try to provide, versus what our expectations to do per the website are stated as.
We provide the reasons for bans as a courtesy to the individual, it is not expected or required of us.
Being abusive or demanding something is not going to work out well.

We appreciate everyone who stops by and gives Literotica.com and Literotica Chat a try, and we hope you enjoy yourselves!

I need to speak to your manager.

The harassment has ramped up a lot lately. I have multiple screenshots from today alone of people calling me offensive names or telling me to go fuck myself because I had the nerve to say "I'm not interested, thank you." Respect and human decency matter a lot. Remember, we are human and not fetish vending machines.

I have to agree, it's gotten REALLY bad because there is a cabal of regular users (couldbe mods, too, who knows) all with multiple screen names for the exclusive purpose of harassing chatters.

I would actually have a great time chatting with that guy. Seems like he wants to challenge my title as greatest shit talker.

I feel that we've been quite clear in the forums about reporting things like this, and the best way to go about it? If we can provide assisstance to you, we will. However, posting it in the forum and automatically suggesting: (coudlbe mods, too, who knows) , doesn't feel like this is done in good faith.

I am open revisiting how I should handle harrassers.

Please reference that info from a nother post or share again please?

I dont have any control over how you feel about bad faith. I am sharing legitimate concerns about the use of multiple IDs for the express purpose of harassing other users.

The user/chatter experience should matter. To ALL chatters, no?

What you have proved here is what SmokingFap already said: moderators are not always present in the chat. This is because we have jobs, lives, families, bills, events, etc. This is why the banner for the actual Chat Mod's Office instructs you to leave us a message so we can get back to you.

Please reference that info from a nother post or share again please?

The process is simple, and it looks like you've got 2/3 of it down already: 1) take a screenshot of the problematic interaction, 2) post the image to an image server like imgbb or imgur, 3) PM a moderator with that link, or if there is no moderator on duty, leave a message in the Chat Mod's Office so we may contact you (do NOT post the link publicly, either to Mod's chat, or to the Chat Forum).

As for your implication that your tormentor was a moderator using a sock-puppet to harass you, well, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, i.e., please bring a screenshot of a moderator admitting that they are operating under a different account for the purpose of harassing chatters. PM a moderator with the link to that screenshot, and we will be happy to take care of it. There have been instances in the past where moderators have acted in ways to get themselves banned; we do not hesitate to ban such people. Personally, I do not have enough time in my day to go about picking on chatters, nor enough interest in petty drama to do so.

This says it all.

Posted to the mod office, both of them.
This appears to be proving that no chat mods were in these rooms at the time the screenshot was taken and that someone is making a room to taunt chat mods. I’m not sure what else you think it’s proving.

The Lit Moderator role is a volunteer role and there aren’t expectations of being online at all times. Take screenshots of what you’re alleging and share it with the mods to help them take action. We can’t see everything and rely on reports.

Please *also* note the engagement you've received here from no less than 3 moderators, 2 of which are specifically chat moderators, and 1 forum mod and 1 chat mod who is also a forum moderator. Posting a link to the mod office of a photo of a user list when no mods were on, to complain about a lack of moderator engagement, while engaging with moderators does seem to make a statement, yes. Velle laid out the process pretty soundly. It's also been posted in the replies to other forum posts.

Looks at the time of year.

It would seem that there is a reason people might maybe just sort of kind of want to spend time with their families. (I am not in the US but thanksgiving does seem to be a pretty huge thing there from what I have seen) We do not have set hours or shifts and it is a volunteer position. We do provide a list of mods pinned at the top of this particular section and people can very easily pm us here.

as well as in the ToS found here

https://www.literotica.com/stories/tos.php

Number 8 of this says the following

8. There are portions of this site that are unmoderated and Literotica does not monitor the content of those parts of the site. We are not responsible for content posted by users without our consent or knowledge. If you see questionable content on the site, please contact the webmaster and make them aware of the situation.

but this also goes for the chat...sometimes there are no mods around. We cannot be there 24/7 and we do expect our mods to feel that their real time and lives come first. And if they need mental health days they should take them with no worries of being judged or getting in trouble. Which is how jobs should be. Thankfully my job understands I needed the day off today.

So anyone who has an issue with this...my answer to that is sorry but this is how it is. And if you choose to complain about it despite this explanation...This...is...how...it...is. It will not change and we will not ask the mods to work in a way that would interfere with their lives.

Velle lack credibility and EarthWorlf and Chmiho are as effective as a state dish rag.

If no one calls you dangerous, it means you've never stood your ground.
If no one fears you, it means you've never dared to disrupt the order.
And if no one speaks ill of you, well, it means you've never stood tall enough to cast a shadow.

If they mock you, it's because they don't understand the strength of your mind. And if they try to bring you down, it's because they've already realized you're above them.

criticism,
slander,
even imitation.
These aren't insults.

Their acknowledgements proof that you matter, that you stand out, that you're living a life others can't ignore.

So let them talk.
Let them doubt.
Let them fear.

Their resistance only confirms your strength -- after all, no one tries to stop the ghost. They only chase the ones who are truly alive.

Nothing quite like plagiarism on a site where the primary focus is original written works 😂😂

Man goes into hamburger restaurant every day. Man eats his meal completely, and then complains about the burger. Management apologizes and replaces his burger. man eats that burger too, but complains. Critcizes management, critcizes food, insults workers. Man leaves.
Man comes in the next day and glares at everyone while he orders a burger. Store staff are confused, but watch. Man eats burger. Man *rages* about burger. Man is offered another burger...but is warned that if he continues to rage, he will be asked to leave. Man wolfs down burger while mocking the staff and laughing at the notion they could remove them.
Man buys another burger, and explains to the restaurant that since he bought another shitty burger with his own money, he was a customer, and the customer is always right. Man explains that he's actually the good guy here.
Everyone in the restaurant knows the food sucks, and the man is just telling the truth. There's *plenty* of other restaurants that do it better! A few customers laugh nervously, and most other customers just look annoyed. Man leaves but doesn't throw any of his trash away and mocks the staff again.
Man continues to do some variation of this for months. Staff slowly goes from amused, to perplexed, to tired, to frustrated, and finally bored. They throw the man out of the restaurant. Man flips his lid. Man rages. They can't throw HIM out! This is an OUTRAGE! These corrupt fools! Why they can't even make a good burger ANYWAY!!1!
Man hatches a plan to continue to buy burgers from his (absolutely not, this is *sarcasm* damn you) favorite burger place. He starts to wear fake beards and glasses and hats in different variations. Sometimes it even seems to work for a time, because when he's disguised he doesn't shit on everyone and give up the game. The staff usually knows it's him, but he's more or less fine when he's faking being pleasant.
Man never seems to put two and two together that when he doesn't shit on everything, the restaurant doesn't mind if he stays. No, that's part of what the restaurant is *trying* to do. They want to taunt him. They want to pretend their burger lord powers *mean* something!
Well he'd show them, he'd show them ALL! Man cackles and dances and screams about the burger. He's kicked out. He's told if he comes back he will be summarily banned from the store. Man screams and rants, tries the drive through, tries more disguises, and again sometimes it works, but he can never help himself for long and goes back to his behavior and is removed. Which is the restaurant's fault really. I mean he's basically Raymond Reddington.
He'd black list THEM! And they'll KNOW IT! Man decides he'll visit the burger restaurant *even more*.

Sure. This makes sense. How dare he be held to the most basic level of accountability on the basis of his own behavior.
It *is* correct, that the common denominators for Man's problems getting on here are the unpaid volunteers of an erotic literature's chat si- er, burger staff, and *him*.
Hm.
