As someone who is a schizophrenic, both an idiot and perfect, I find difficulty reading some posts. The problem is because I’m perfect I also realise I’m an idiot because only an idiot would believe they’re perfect. It’s simple really. Just like me. Anyway, on with the show.

There are subjects I have an opinion on, sometimes strong opinions, and other subjects that don’t bother me and in those cases I can’t see the point in my making a comment. Or my making a comment would simply be repeating what someone else has already said without adding anything worthwhile. With being an idiot there are, of course, exceptions.

ps: is this the right place to put a ps? Never mind. It probably isn’t important. What is important is to read the remainder of this post in the same frame of mind I was in when I wrote it. Otherwise it won’t work. Except with the schizophrenics.

Long comments, the War and Piece (Literotica version), I ignore or maybe, on a good day, skim through because they are so long. Sometimes there are paragraphs of such a length if they were in a story they would be criticised and given the “white space” advice. It’s particularly unfortunate when the OP has raised a subject that’s likely to provoke an interesting discussion but their initial post is so long I’m asleep, or reaching for the headache tablets or the whisky bottle, or maybe both, before I’ve finished reading it.

If I do make a comment, and please bear in mind I’m speaking as someone who is perfect, I try to keep it to a reasonable length with short(ish) paragraphs which will entice people to read what I’ve written because, naturally, it will be fascinating and better than any comment anyone else has made or will make in the future.

Why do people insist on quoting all of a previous, always very long, comment when they only want to say something about one sentence in that comment? There is an edit facility. It’s easy to use. Or perhaps it’s just laziness? These are comments that idiots like me (or do I mean perfectionists? Whatever) ignore completely because I can’t be bothered to read the entire quote to see to what they’re referring.

One last point. It might not be the last but I can’t remember anything more because I’m boring myself writing such a long comment. Why do people insist on quoting several other people in the comment they are about to make? Maybe quote a couple on the same subject but five or six on different opinions? That’s just...****** *****. Fill in the blanks yourself and I bet you don’t get it because only an idiot would think it in the first place. An intelligent person would put ******* ****** followed by **** ***.

I’m not criticising anyone in particular, and please continue as you are doing at the present time if you wish, but I can’t help but think there must be millions like myself (perhaps that’s a slight exaggeration) who miss out on very good comments because of the points I’ve mentioned. Of course, it might be the comment is only intended to be read by another person commenting on the same thread and not just an “ordinary” Lit reader who’s quite happy to read the opinion of others. As long as they are readable.

I apologise for the length of this post but I was just too lazy to break it up into two or more readable posts. I’m off now to read the Kama Sutra. Or with it being Literotica perhaps Moby Dick would be more appropriate.

Now now, come over to the coffee shop for a cuppa, we can spice it up if you need it for your nerves.

PS: how was that not a long post?

Seriously, for my part, if I’m being incomprehensible, please just ignore me or interpret my ramblings in a way that makes me seem benevolent. English isn’t my first language, and as I’m often hanging out here quite late at night, I might produce some bizarre brain farts without meaning to.
