I suspect that was just Chicklet's outline. From that it is possible to write a story.

If I were to do it, it would be very different because I never went to a US school, and thing in most schools were different in the middle of the last century when I was at school.

Why don't you do two things for the rest of us?

First:- Register. it costs nothing and you don't need to say much about yourself, but we can tell if it's you posting or some other unregistered.

Second:- Write the story, from Chicklet's outline if you like, and post it for us all to enjoy? There's lots of help available, like the How To strand and the Volunteer Editor service.

Alright here is my register name. About the second thing i don't mean to sound selfish . But here is the problem. I am not good at writing sex stories. Then the second reason is that I don't get the same thrill of reading my own stories.

I think part of it, for me, is that I always find fault in my writing, even after mulitple drafts and editing. Whatever I write, I worry "does this sound stupid? Are people going to like this?" Also, the anticipation is gone. I KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN! = )

Actually I do, I re read and re watch all my favorite things. I don't know...I just...I don't like my stories. I wouldn't read them. I'd like other people to write things similar to them and I would enjoy reading those, but I don't enjoy reading my own writing style. But it's still the style I like to use, and it's gotten me some great scores and feedback...hrmm...

Perhaps you can explain the scores to me. I have never voted for anything I have read, although I send feedback from time to time. I have never been able to fathom whether this 1 to 5 mark is intended to be for literary merit or for sexual arousal, Many well-written stories don't turn me on because they are not written about my particular favourite activities, and it would seem unfair to mark them down on that account. Other stories which are a real turn on need an hour or more's editing to make them readable (you know the ones - spelling not checked, wandering between past tense and historic present, even in one sentence, misused words, etc. etc.) and I am loath to give them a good mark on that measure, but am turned on enough to do all the editing.

So what do you think a five means? Judging from the scores on the stories (the lowest I've seen is 3.5) most people give either five, four or one and two or three is rare. Any logical marking scheme would have three as a norm and add or subtract points for "good" or "bad" whatever, so an average story would get three. An average story on here seems to be about 4.3!!!

I agree with you. I don't know why we have the 1 and 2, I think people mostly use them out of spite. I *never* rate a story below a 3, and it has to be pretty bad to get a 3 from me. A 5 is saved for a story I liked in all regards, decent spelling and grammar and hot enough for me to get turned on or at least like the authors ideas. If the story was not as well written but I thought that with some work it could be worthy of a 5, I give it a 4. If a story is about a subject that just doesn't interest me at all, I usually don't read it all the way through, and don't vote on it. And if a story is too boring for me to want to finish, I usually don't vote. Unless it's boring and terrible and I want to give it a 3.
