hi im not sure if this the place to put this but i will try. I am in the middle of reaserching the 80s and 90s skate scene for a movie script i am going to write

The movie is set around the late 80s early 90s vert scene, and the chaos that waz caused when street skating took over.

The main character is based on gator and jeff phillips (two of the best and most tradegic skaters of all time)

What i need are for people to tell stories of what the scene wus like. What underground bands were playing the clubs. What wuz the atmosphere at the parks. What were the cops like? anything that comes to mind.

i really hope that someone can help me

not sure if I can help.. my son was in competitive (artistic) roller skating and I know most of the people involved in that sport.... street skating didn't have much impact on artistic or speed skating though

I think I can help you out, I have a novella that takes place in 1990 So. Cal about a female am vert skater. PM me with your story setting and maybe a little outline of your characters and plot and I'd be glad to help. I was into skating at that time and have done a lot of research. It was a very precarious time and a lot of pros lost their livelyhood when street took over and they could not adapt.

of course we don't. Visionskate is totally welcome to post whatever information he/she has on their story here and I'll post my 2 cents. Actually, that might help more if anyone else knows something about the subject.
