I'm looking for one of my favorite stories and I can't seem to find it. I thought the title was "The Ring" (but I could be misremembering) and I'm afraid I've forgotten the author's name.

It's the story of a secret society of dominant "Brothers" (male and female) and submissive "siblings" identified to one another by a certain type of ring. The setting for the story is a college campus, written in the first-person perspective of a man named David who is being introduced to this world and invited to become a Brother.

Thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction!

This kind of frosts my buttons...

I just looked this guy up, he just joined so how could he have read the story previously?
It literally took me a few seconds to find this story so, he either is too damn lazy to look it up himself, or he doesn't know how to use the search.
In any event, I thought I would be a nice guy and find it for him. I did. You'd think I'd get a thank you from him.
I think I've been had.

Lots of people lurk without signing up for an account. I wouldn't worry about that part, it could be totally legit.

...I didn't know how to use the search for years...and I had an account. Was also too lazy to learn until I REALLY wanted to find a story again that I'd read a couple years ago---then I learned quickly.

Yes, the poster should have thanked you. But being the nice guy doesn't always pay off. Sometimes it does, though.

Case in point: your post here inspired me to try a few combos in the search and say, "By golly, he's right...look how easy that was."

So..."teach a man to fish" and all that.... ;)

Thanks!

You know due to my cynical nature I have another theory with Newbies coming on here to find "an awesome story"

First off, if the thing was that good you would remember the damn name. Maybe even book mark it to your pc.

Although I am sure some requests are legit. I often think the newbie is an alt of the author trying to get some play for their story. Just the cynic in me.

Always possible, but probably not terribly frequent. :)

I can also say...ahem...that with several stories I thought were quite good, or a particular part of the story got me off, when I wanted to go back and read just that part again because I was "in the mood".....I couldn't remember the damned title!

I blame my "altered state of being" when I'm reading with the specific purpose to have a "happy ending." No, I didn't bookmark it, no, I didn't remember the title. I was distracted and busy to think of it.

It happens.

Once I saw a five minute porn clip, that was the hottest thing I had ever seen. I forgot where on the site I saw it, and it was one of those free sites so there were thousands of videos. ever since then I book mark every video and or story that.... does the job. That way I can show the wife and we can work together to get things done.

I don't fault him for not remembering...

I was just amazed at how simple it was to find this story with the info he provided. It literally took me two seconds, it was the first story listed.
I think that's what ticked me off.
I've helped out people finding stories before with no thanks, but it was never that easy to find the story.
Oh well!
Happy New Year everyone!
