Hi peeps

Shameless beg!

My series Daemon's Whore, has been doing okay but one post, Part 04 has been languising with 9 votes for ages and ages. it is the only part that hasn't hit the magic 10. Over 1500 people have taken a look, may not have read it I agree, but they took a peek and only 9 voted?

It is odd but there also seems to be no pattern to the viewings. I would have expected more to have taken a look at part 01 and then reducing to the hard core who wanted to read the end. but it's been all over the place.

Maybe I don't get it yet, but why would you ask for votes if you wanted something that was only 3 or above? Wouldn't that make votes irrelevant? How do you know the vote would be honestly given?

I haven't read your stuff, and I will admit that I have yet to give below a 3 (though I haven't reviewed the really godawful stuff that I was unable to slog through), but the idea of limiting your votes rather than wanting honest critique puts a bad taste in my mouth. My apologies. I'm not trying to start a flamewar - it's late at night and I'm tired. I just saw the conditional of "three or more" and it raised an eyebrow.

As far as reading different bits and pieces, it's the same thing with regular fiction. I've a profile over at Fictionpress where I dump my material that isn't publishable for one reason or another, and the same thing happens there - certain chapters get skipped. People can leave off your story and then come back to it, or can be skipping ahead to the end. It happens.

I will read and review at some point, probably. Sorry for the questions, but that befuddles me. I'll maintain that I'd prefer a 3 honestly given, with relevant, salient criticism, than a 5 and 'omgz so grate!' - but maybe it's me.

I get miffed of the 'Great, please write more - Anonymous USA'. It is very pleasant and I try to thank them in my notes in sequels etc but it doesnt help you develop your style and work.

Those precious few who have troubled to leave their emails and more detailed comments have been worth their virtual weight in the proverbial.

Apologies for putting you on the spot, in any case. I didn't mean to paint a target or anything. I'm tired and amidst finals, so bluntness is the sole operating mode at the moment, but I figured I'd question the title as long as it was hanging around.

Ah, but I'm a night owl with afternoon classes, and so my finals don't start 'til 1 PM. Technically, it's almost like 10 PM here, given that.
