Take the twist tryst to the extreme. At some point in the 90s, Penthouse crossed the Rubicon and went into full contact penetration. A mother who posed nude in her early years and a son who accidentally discovered her photos is an interesting idea that provides many opportunities. It seems to me that an interesting twist would be if the mother repented of her past and broke up with it, starting to lead a proper and maybe even religious life. This could create an interesting psychological conflict, and would make the story more emotional and exciting.

Outside Playboy, which was marketing their models as the "Girl Next Door" and were very public about each person, most erotic models used modeling names, or changed their names. Most of the porn actors did as well. So there's always the possibility of someone who knew them, possibly a neighbor or family member, who didn't know they were doing erotic modeling or acting. This person runs across those photos or films, and then realizes who it is, or if the modeling or acting was years earlier, maybe not realize at first...

I find it hilarious that everyone is going with the playboy model aspect, but at no point did anyone think of Playgirl magazine at all. Maybe ave a foursome with a couple of friends (a guy and girl) find their respective single parent's old magazine where they were models of (Mom was in Playboy, the Dad was in Playgirl), and have the story progress incestuously from there?
