I miss it.

Have any of you been there lately? It's been over six years for me. Has growth ruined it, or is it as charming as ever?

i have! i stayed at fisherman's village in '06. loved it. sunbathed topless on my balcony.

I want to go back, but I'm afraid it won't be the same any more.

I was there in '08, and it seemed delightful. I have an acquaintance who tries to go annually for her vacation. If I see her, I'll be sure to ask if she's been more recently.

A lot changed after the hurricane some years back. They even have a Costco now!

It's such a sweet little town. The last time we were there was days after a late season hurricane had hit, but most of the damage was north of town. Since then they've had several which I think were worse.

Does anyone have a connection to the expat community there?

We always talked of going there together. I'm sad it never happened. No, the last guy I knew there moved quite a while ago. Sorry.
