Platform,at the edge of the worlds

ooc:k,this thread is set out of time,in a type of limbo where a piece of land called the Platform floats in forever,Platform is a place where beings of all kinds live in a community.Platform is roughly large enough to support a small city and land to grow food to feed it.The inhabitants are of any variety.They are all outcasts,shunned for being different or hated for how they looked.But a powerful arch-devil wants Platform to stage an invasion of all the material worlds(one is the our world,there's about 100 who have no idea this is all going on).THe people of Limbo have,of course,no place else to go so have been put in the unlikely role as defenders.size,shape,being,nothing is specific except the basic story.There are multiple diety's but they aren't interfering with the events here so far.i need people to play good and bad guys of course)

form:usually uses a human-shaped form with wings but no features(hair,eyes,nose,mouth,etc.)color changing with mood
true form:unknown
age:about 2000 yrs.
story:a rare being made when time in the seperate material worlds collides for a single moment.He is able to shapeshift into anything that doesnt blow up or seperate for more than a few seconds.Was outcasted from the human world after being found out as a shapeshifter.Managed to find the gateway to Platform.quiet usually,but acts nicely enough.Has use of some magic.weakness-cold slows his changing process,extreme will trap him in his current form until removed.He is very strong.

I got an idea for a character.
John Tesh, a writer, who is now a mental patient. I would explain why he's there, but that would take the whole fun away from the plotting.
Anyway, I suppose I'm in, but I think I need a bit more of elaboration as well. Maybe just give us some more details about the plot or the Platform realm, or maybe just some cool ideas you had.

here is some more on Platform,so anyone who wants to join has a better understanding of the story line:

Platform Is roughly 500x250 feet and 20ft. thick,and inhabitents can live on both sides.The side called "top side",is where most live,in a small city-like community."bottom side" is where food is grown and collected for everyone.The sides are used for everything,a mixture of the people wanting more seclusion and extra farm land.Platform is in a type of timeless void.Light comes from a large collection of energy that floats exactly 50 feet away from Platform.As Platform tilts slowly like a gyroscope,The light acts like day/night.This collection of energy is really a number of gateways to the hundred or so "material worlds",wich are worlds that have space and time to govern reality.(our world is like that,it is called the human world,since humans have dominance on the planet).The inhabitants are beings that are different,and are shunned by their fellow beings.They find the gateway because they are inprobabilities of time and space.Beings that arent truly supposed to exist,and reality shunts them into Limbo,where maybe some greater being took pity on the outcasts and made a safe place for them to stay,instead of floating in a void until they died.

The main plot is that an arch-devil(not the religous figure,just a being of power stronger than human,named for their cruelty and sometimes horrendus appearance) from one of the Material worlds knows of the gateways and can go through it and conquer the other worlds.The only problem i that Platform's inhabitants take up the space his armies could stay until they were distributed to a world that needs to be conquered.since they are in the way,Platform's inhabitants have a choice.Die or float in Limbo forever.Or defend their home,fighting tooth and nail to keep the onyl place they have ever truly been accepted in.

there is no predjudice on Platform.There is only a mutual need of survival.There wont be any peaceful negotiations,and no one is going to be quietly pushed out of the picture again.
