The last FORD I owned had a plastic radiator. You cant repair plastic radiators. I owned it 3 years and replaced pretty nearly everything. Radiator, A/C twice, brakes 3 times, engine mounts, the sound sytem lasted till the warantee expired.

My 2000 CHEVY went thru 3 air conditioners before the warrantee expired.

My 2005 Korean rice burner keeps on ticking. It hasnt been to the shop for anything, just tires. Gooks wont put up with the shit Americans have huge appetites for.

I haven't bought an "American" car in over 30 years. Looking around, most of my neighbors don't either.

Back in the day you'd buy an American car and spend $3000 on it in early repairs - and then you'd have a good car.

Now, even if they build the perfect car American car companies have a huge image problem to overcome. Maybe GM ought to use its bailout money to buy Toyota.

Au Contraire. Toyota should buy Government Motors and square it away except they don't need that kind of drag on their profit margin.

JOMAR

Last November my GF bought a new American car. It cost her 35K. The transmission failed after 2 weeks. The dealer replaced the transmission after waiting a month for the factory to ship a new one. The sound system has never worked and a new one wont work any better because the problem is with the software programming.

To make a long story short, the car has had so many problems it inspired me to use it in a horror short story, which sold to the 1st magazine I submitted it to. The car was THAT scary!

GM is destined to become CHECKER. Ten years from today a factory with 50,000 bureaucrats and 5 mechanics will build one car a day.
