So what are your plans for the Fourth?

For my wife and myself we're planning on a nice quiet day.

A ride in the cool of the morning after raising the Flag.

In the early afternoon I'll fire up the smoker and toss in a couple of racks of well seasoned Beef Short Ribs. As they slow smoke I'll whip up some Slaw and get the Garlic Bread ready for the oven.

In the evening we'll stuff ourselves silly as we watch the race.

Following the race we'll step outside and watch the town Fireworks, and maybe add a bit of my home made ones. Following this we'll step inside and celebrate our anniversary by re enacting our wedding night.

We're not doing anything specifically for the fourth, but my neighbor and I are taking the small savage and her three heathens to Six Flags Over Georgia tomorrow.

Should be an adventure.

I will pretty much be by myself. The wife is going to be with our daughter and wont be back until some time late Sunday. I'm not much on fireworks, not since I got blew up a couple of times. So I guess I am sitting home alone with my Dogs. Maybe I grill us a hamburger on the grill, They would like that.

Family cookout replete with hotdogs, hamburgers, shiskabobs, watermelon, strawberry shortcake and fireworks at midnight.

We're having a BBQ out at the grandparents' house. I'm currently looking for a Fred Flintstone sized rack of ribs.

Still in the planning stages, but I think I'm taking the kids to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis, then a huge fireworks show that night.

Since Sunday is the BIL's birthday, we're not really doing anything for the Fourth. I'll fry some chicken and mash some 'taters and make a big salad. The serious eating will be the following day. And since even though I'm not as bad as I used to be I still am no fan of serious fireworks, I think I'll stay inside and write.

My BIL and his family are coming over for a BBQ and a swim...unless it rains...then it's off to a local BBQ restaurant. We're planning to watch the city fireworks display at Veterans' Park...unless it rains...then we'll go back to the house and either play Wii games or board games. :D

Long drive north. Stupid thinks he's strong and plans on showing off in competition.

I'll be watching fireworks on the 3rd in Red Bank New Jersey. If anyone wants to stop by and introduce themselves, I'll be the one going ooh, ahh. The 4th, I'll be in the next town over doing the same thing. I LOVE fireworks!

Groundation for the boy for a major rule infraction. Location to be determined.

I got the charcol and wood chips but I haven't been told what we are smoking yet :D

I have a dozen people coming over Friday evening for some of those Flintstone ribs and all the trimmings. The fourth will be a quiet day at home.

I think we'll bbq something and I'm making minx some 4th of july cookies or dessert of some sort all stripey red, white and blue. I try and give her hoidays from both countries. Part of me and part of himself. Still have candle the massive sparkles we bought before so will do those.

I will likely sit in the backyard and fish for a fat Bass.

I live above a creek, but the creek is generally tucked away in the midst of a snake-alligator swamp. I've seen moccasins as fat as my biceps. I'm speaking of a snake about 4 inches wide. Big Fucker!

But the creek is flooding and close to my yard. I expect to catch a couple of 2-3 pound fish. A nice supper.

I'll be floating down the Rhine, watching them shoot off fireworks from the old castles along the river. The ground show features flares lighting the castles and light shows on the water. The finale will be fireworks and a live band on the waterfront of a German town. A front row seat for the fireworks and no crowds after is an unbeatable combination.

*Turns green with jealousy*

I will be barbecuing, swimming, and watching the main attraction of family events, 'adorable nephew,' do three-year-old things. There will be 10 spectators for this event who firmly believe that said child is WAY more exciting than fireworks. However, if we can all make it, we'll climb on the patio roof and lie atop a couple of blankets and stare into the sky while the local Community College lights up the sky. However, if it's too hot, we'll watch fireworks on TV. (Always have to have a backup plan in the heat.)

One of the truly lovely things about living here is that it hits 85 and the natives think they might melt. Of course, I've lived here long enough to think that they might have a point.

Is there any chance that there's an eleventh spectator who shares your doubts about the main attraction? One person rolling eyes with you can make a family gathering ever so much more bearable. :D

Wife and I will be driving northwards for our monthly visit to my oldies.

I hope it doesn't rain, and I also hope it isn't a heatwave like we've had the last few days. The poor car will just overheat.
