Plane Crashed, today, Nov 12, 2001...need some input

I was in an assembly today for the obvious patriotic day that today is...and the counselor announced that a plane had crashed.

with no other info, I was seriously worried. I know about the engine, but did the FBI figure out who was behind it? anyone?

I am just curious, and obviously wish to ease my fears. Though I am not fearful of them, but of what we may not be able to do TO them soon.

Any info would be appreciated

An American Airlines plane crashed in New York, there were no survivors. The news media is doing its best to try and blame it on terrorists but that has not been the case thus far. I think we are now blaming terrorists on any thing that happens in the USA. My car would not crank this morning, was it terrorist related? I think we are reacting just the way the terrorists want us to react, afraid of anything and everything. A president once said, "The only thing to fear is fear itself" and that still fits today.

Does anyone have to be behind it? Planes crash all the time. It's a risk you take when you leave the ground. Sometimes, things fall. Ask Icarus.

Last I heard, it was most likely mechanical failure.

To this point the bulk of the evidence supports the notion that it was a coincidence, a plain, old-fashioned mechanical engine failure just after take-off which did in Flt 587.

Do not presume, Mr. Livingston, I no longer eat fast food, I do not use the airlines anymore, I refuse to cross bridges, I do not accept mail (that happens to be the only box that is full at my house at the moment). Have I fallen into the hysteria with everyone else? Perhaps but I do not like to feel left out. I am convinced the car not starting is the work of terrorists. I am also just as sure that the terrorists will cancel winter this year and replace it with unyielding sun and heat. Oh yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus but he will be wearing a turban and driving a magic carpet this year.

Furthermore, it is not the car that I am worried about old man winter getting, it is my little cold body instead. Maybe I can get Lukky?
