Plagiarism: Self Report?

An anonymous reader has accused me of plagiarism with the story, "DNA". He says he read a similar story on Literotica a long time ago and I obviously copied the story. He doesn't cite the story's title but he does point out the differences between my story and the one I "copied from". Essentially it involves a man who discovers he's not the biological father of his children through a DNA test. You mean that's not totally original? (irony)

I'd be very surprised if there were not other stories with a similar theme or plot line. But if this reader honestly believes I plagiarized another author's work, then he should report me to the webmaster. If he hasn't then I'm reporting myself just in case. Does anyone know the story the story Mr./Ms. Anonymous refers to? I would very much like to read it to discovered where I "copied" from. I would like to ask the author if he/she feels the same way. I would like to know if the webmaster feels the same way and wants to punish me in some appropriate way.

The anonymous reader might be interested to know that I've also posted stories with the following plot line: Boy meets girl; Boy falls for girl; Boy beds girl. I'm sure he must have read a similar story on Literotica a long time ago so I must have plagiarized that one too.

Do any authors have similar experiences? I beg to be educated on how to avoid accusations of this sort in the future.

The plaintiff doesn't give you a link or even a title? F*ck 'em! That's not plagiarism, that's inspiration.

I've Pasteurized myself several times. I'm just glad no one esles saw me doing it.

if every story on this site and other's like it were compared by a brainless fuckwit then we have all plagiarized each other and the fuckwit would claim that the first story he ever read was the original and only true story in the world.

I'll bet your anonymous reader got the DNA idea the last time the aliens abducted him to run a few more tests.

Wait a second...back in 1965, when we were in the forefront of DNA electrophoreisis, I'm sure I made some reference to sex in my lab report...I'd better hit the archives to make sure you didn't plagiarize it from me!

Treat this as you would any other anonymous negative comment. Fuck'em.

Thanks for the feedback, guys

I feel a lot better about this. I won't fret about anonymous and unsubstantiated accusations any more.

Honestly, as long as you didn't copy the story word for word, or the plot event for event, who gives a fuck? Why can't 10 authors write about the same thing in their own different way? I mean, someone could come up with a basic plot of "dumb cheerleader duped into sex" and get 100 different stories that are nowhere similar save for they all involve a dumb cheerleader duped into sex.

Better yet...don't read the comments left on your stories, don't listen to anyone who offers advice, run like hell if anyone suggests an edit and realize that writing is a totally individual and isolated avocation that only you can accomplish.

Drinking a lot helps. :)
