I've only been to San Antonio once, and that was only for two days. It was after a week and a half rafting trip on the Rio, so ANY civilization seemed heavenly.
Anyhow, as hokey as it sounds be sure to do the Alamo tour. As a non-Texan I never really got the whole Alamo obsession, but it was actually really interesting and worth the couple hours. Also there's a pretty cool mall, with it's own venetian style river running through it. As for sex shops...that'd take a local to tell ya. It does bring up a good question though. Is Texas like alot of the bible-belt south and totally shuns places like that? Or are they a little more open?
Enjoy your trip, I have nothing but enjoyable memories of Texas no matter where I've been. Dallas, Padre Is, San Antonio, Big Bend...damn...I need a vacation.
