opens today. I read that Johnny Depp plays the lead 'androgynous', whatever the critics mean by that. Has anyone seen it? How is it. How is his performance?

then big attention in " Bend it Like Backham", the girl-power soccer movie. There is a girl/girl kising scene in that movie, and Keira's character is described as a 'tomboy', so there was a lot or 'lesbian chic' and backlash chatter about the film

now Orlando Bloom's love interest in Pirates.

reviewers say she has a minor part but that the camera loves her to death.

I havent seen it yet but want to. Johnny Depp is NOT the best actor around, but I watch all of his movies simply because he is hot. Orlando Bloom is nothing to sneeze at either. Should be good.

I have to disagree with you. I think Johnny Depp is a terrific actor. His range, from Edward Scissorhands to Ed Wood to Donnie Brasco, is very impressive.

I saw clips on TV today, and he didn't look particularly androgynous. Not that I care - he's one guy that my girlfriend and I would both fuck if we had the chance, just because he's such a pretty boy. (I'd do Ian McKellen, too.)

I saw the dry run last night:

Very good, but I'm afraid it's going to get shunned because it's a good OLD FASHIONED story and people are used to glitz.

The fight scenes were much more realitisic than The Muskeeter.

There are three main leads Capt. Jack Sparrow (Depp) walks with a drunken swish and flops his wrists about quite a bit but also makes a pass at the female lead and gets batted about by every other female in the movie.

William Turner is played by Orlando Bloom, a very ernest performance by the thin lipped hunk. He emotes soundlessly very well, but plays it a little cheesy at the very end. Considering what he had to work with *shrugs*. Good fenceing form with the saber...holds his wrist perfectly.

Don't let the reviews fool you Keira Knightley is a great thrid lead who doesn't scream much and in fact goes off to rescue her man more than once. She has a very enchanting upside down mouth.

All the leads have brown eyes....

Best techo bit: The sword fight when they are bounceing back and forth from fleshed to unfleshed.

Best visual: Underwater walking.


Best line: I won't spoil it for you by quoteing it, but it's Jack's line to Will about promises.

Best gay couple in the movie: The two pirates (one with a wooden eye) who dress up in women's clothes.

who she play in EP1? anywho Innocent and I saw the movie, we loved it, debated on seeing it again but decided to wait for it on DVD, and the lil monkey was just too cute

She played Sabe, the Decoy Queen. Apparently she was cast in the role because of similar size, body and facial type as Natalie Portman.
