Pirated movies vs Non-Pirated movies, in 1 picture.

I hate it when people try to legitimize pirating. It's stealing. I do it but I don't try and pretend I'm doing something right.

You can't legitimize something that's already legitimate. I think you mean moralize or justify. And he's not doing that- he's saying that it's more convient to watch pirated movies. Much like how no one wants to sit through Hulu playing the same commercial 4 times during a 21 minute show. Why would they do that? TV doesn't even do that.

I pirate. But that shocks no one. I'm not a good person. I'm an average, honest, sugar-stealing American.

No one wants to sit through commercials, period. Yet another reason piracy happens. Right and just or not.

No one sits through commercials because people are stupid. Somewhere out there someone loves each and every one of us enough that they researched what shows we'd be watching and put commercials for things we'd probably want on shows we'd probably watch! You buy a movie and the studio puts similar movies that are coming out on previews you can't skip cus honestly they know you're a retard and would skip right past Superman vs Jesus: The Ultimate Battle, not because you don't want it but just because you want to watch the movie faster!

Restating my point doesn't make it any less valid. America is full of idiots- of Homer Simpsons. And idiots like me, and other honest, sugar-stealing Americans don't like paying for things. So we don't. We also don't argue morality. It's easy to understand. So easy, that an idiot can understand it. So easy, that an idiot can live by it.

Intellectual elitism gets you nowhere with the masses. And you're trying to convert the masses from their free, instant-access lifestyle to... what exactly? Spell it out for me. Use small words. Use a rhyming reductionist chant like, "Sharing is Caring". If you can't, the masses, with me at the forefront will either tell you to go to hell, or, more likely, ignore you completely.

You may live in a theocracy in your mind where the world is dictated by a moral standard that everyone tries to live up to. But here, in the really real world of a capitalistic democracy that I live in every day, sanity is statistical and morality is irrelevant. This is the world, there is no other, and there certainly is no perfect moral playground. I don't think as a pansexual druggy whore idiot I could even live in that world. Nor could my hundreds of comrads. You know, you would think in an overbearing situation like that where someone tried to impose their moral or religious or spiritual standards on others like that that the oppressed folk would leave that spiritual utopia to the moral crusaders and just go somewhere else.

Can you think of any point in our euro-centric historical fairytale that something like that might have happened?

You call people illegitimate to, don't you? English isn't your first language is it? Something becomes legitimized in a democracy in sheer numbers. With all the people pirating, it's legitimate. That's the reason that camping on FPSs is a legitimate strategy. That's why I said, "sanity is statistical". You don't have to like it- I fucking hate campers- especially the ones who stand RIGHT BESIDE THE SPAWN POINT but that doesn't make it illegitimate. Just like how your parents not being married doesn't knock you out of an inheritance anymore- because sanity is statistical, and people realized that was stupid. It's unfortunate, but it's true.

You have to live in the real world. Legitimacy has nothing to do with legality. I mean, you don't legally have to leave your kids anything- you can give all your shit to charity if you wanted, or you can give your "illegitimate" child everything. Legality and morality have nothing to do with each other. When you understand that, life will become much easier for you.
