Keeps showing up in my spybot scans, I thought I got rid of it once already but it keeps returning.........is there a geek out there that can offer any help?

Did spybot say it got rid of it or that you would have to reboot to get rid of it?

It didn't say to do anything, I just fixed and purged.

Then it is probably attached to some other program that will put it back out there when it detects that it has been deleted.

Run a virus scan too!

I'm a scan Nazi...I think it's in the registry keys but I'm not sure what to look for...I followed a guide on a website I found and did what they said but it came back again. Stupid viruses.

That's the one I went on, I must have missed something...lol...I'm not technical, I want a quick step thing for dummies.
Thank you, I may have to just read that again.
Did you download the two pieces of software and run them?

Ummm...no, just the one.
In post #4 of the thread I linked are to links to down load some software...nevermind. My mistake it's one down load two programs in the download.

Did both programs run? The first one and then HijackThis?

the one ran and supposedly got rid of the crap but I did a scan today and it's back. I have no patience for this today...lol. normally I go on a mission to attack and destroy.

Ok, when you get your dander up and go on the attack, the link to that forum thread has instructions in it You should just follow the instructions.

Ya, right!

I realise you said you're not technical but after spybot gets rid you should perhaps download and run CCleaner which will show you an amazing amount of crap in the registry.

Not always but sometimes the virus will call their registry items by an obvious name which CCleaner will show you.

At least you can then get rid of the obvious.

When I ran it I took the chance that it knew what it was doing and deleted everything it showed me.

Thanks G, I downloaded and ran it, it's very good. :rose:

Abs...

Try running Spybot in windows safe mode and make sure you disable the system restore when you do...

after you reboot back to normal mode... set a new restore point...

You might want to try running Adaware SE personal from the safe mode at the same time... make sure and update both programs before going into safe mode...
