Pink Floyd

btw ... which one's "Pink"?

LOL Isabella ...

I saw Floyd in 1975 at Bingley Hall, Stafford, UK - a small venue (3000 - seated on the floor) They played all of "Animals", all of "Wish You Were Here" then half of "Dark Side ..." Amazing! Inflatable pig and all!

Zeppelin - cool too. Saw Page and Plant 2 years ago. Hell, can that guy play guitar!

If any of you "youngies" get the chance to see The Australian Pink Floyd, or Stairway to Zeppelin tribute bands - go for it!

The Division Bell Tour, Atlanta....

I saw Floyd my freshman year in high school, I was 15. My stepdad, and his brother and my mom rented a limo, I invited my best friend Julie at the time and we had a blast! I got to miss school and everything! ;) Julie wasn't too familar of Floyd but after the concert she loved them :D
I remember getting hit on by a waaay older man in my row, he was offering me some whiskey to put in my coke...my mother was right next to me. I was like "Umm...I'm 15 years old" He even offered to let me wear his jackett since it was raining, but fuck who cared about the rain? I mean FLOYD was rockin....

We had the pig of course and lasers, but the sky was slightly cloudy from the rain, so you could barely see some of the lasers.

pink floyd... THE WALL!! whoo hoo

the only music i like from them, and thats cause its the only music ive heard them sing! from the movie.

ive got like 3 posters ... hehe.. well.. i dont.. he does! lolthey are trippy!!

Cool story, Mistress - one of those memories that will never fade. You saw the "Pig" tour aged 15? Puts us the same age I guess..... ain't it great! :)

Ooooops!

Er ... I guess I got my maths wrong!

Seems like you are some 19 years younger than me! Sorry!!

Ah well......:)

(I wasn't that older guy "hitting" on you, btw - wrong continent! :) )

I like older men now! ;)

BTW, I'm 23, and if I ever got the chance to see another concert I'd jump at it!

Trippy indeed!

The Wall is largely a Roger Waters album - still good but, in my opinion, not as mind-blowing as the Waters/Gilmour stuff of earlier. Give it a listen!

If you really want "trippy" - try the Syd Barrett stuff. That guy was MAD!

Awwww.shucks!

We "Oldies" have our uses!

The chances of seeing the original Floyd are slim since their split. Dave Gilmour was interviewed recently in a UK mag and asked why he and Roger Waters didn't get on. He replied, "Because he's a c**t!"

Ah well! Anyways - I have a ticket to see Roger Waters in June.

(Just realised one advantage of living in the UK!!!):)

And another thing ....

Mistress - 8500 posts!!!

You must have started when you were an embryo!;)

Love Pink Floyd. I've never seen them in concert but I've seen The Wall more times than I can count. :)

I saw Floyd in Toronto about seven years ago. They played a bit of everything from over the decades, inflatable pigs, lazers and "Money" played in live, surround sound in an outdoor arena was way cool!

Damn I love Canada! They have all the best concerts.

Oops, wrong thread.

showing my age

Saw Pink Floyd in Washington DC in 72...........the Kennedy Center had opened not long before and Floyd played in the concert hall.....talk about acoustics

they opened with a whole set of brand new music.........even had program handouts for the lyrics.................was released the next year.............Dark Side of the Moon

can't even find words to describe what that was like....(plus I was under the influence of illegal substances at the time)
thought they were god

after a break they came out and played for another 2 hours
one of the great concert experiences of my life

Sounds cool, Ender ... hearing "Dark Side..." before it was released! Jealous now!

I went to a pink floyd concert at jefferson staduim in houston in 1977. Yes, they had the pig, laser lights and such. It was a fine concert, but OMG, Never have i saw so many drugs in my life in one place! People were selling baggies of pills like they were popcorn or peanuts!

The music was to loud. My ears rang for four hours afterwards.
Of coarse it might have been the dozen brownies,The half once of weed and the vial of hash oil us four consumed getting there and during the show!

No, really the music was to loud. The goodtimes machine we were in was vibrating from the music and it was half way across the parking lot. The bass form the speakers felt like someone was patting your ribs.

Believe it or not i was the cleanest cut guy i saw there! I had hair down past my shoulders, tee shirt and sandals on. I was better dressed than most people.

I'm not bitching, It was one of the best concerts i have ever went to.:p

<big hugs Starfire> ... i am so glad you got that reference ... sometimes i think my humour is a little too far out there .... lol ... no seriously ...

and it's nice to see ya back in Canada again, MissT dear ... but dammit ... we keep missing each other at the border crossings .... lol ....

Isabella, luv,

Next time I cross the border, I will let you know.

Would you, then, dress in uniform and give me a cavity search?

One can never be too careful about whom one allows into their country, ya know?

*MUAH* Ma cherie!

LOL! I don't even post as much as I use too! ;)

I have been at Lit almost a year..a year in Feb. I broke 1000 my first month! ;)
