Why when someone sends or post thier pictures on the web do they always use old pictures?? Are we afraid of what we look like?? I'am not afraid of people seeing what I look like at 32..I guess cause I havent changed. Any thoughts on this??

Sometimes it's all we have on our computers. the one people have of me is like 10 years old, but I haven't changed a bit since then.

Not ashamed, just too lazy to have my pic taken and scan it.

You haven't changed but most do, Do you think most are unhappy with what they have become?
I'am well aware this will upset some people..
ALL I'AM SAYING IS BE PROUD OF YOURSELF

You sound just like someone else I know who gets very pissed at you when you put yourself down.

I personally hate camera's but, I just recently, VERY recently, bought myself a camera so that when I'm talking to my sweetie online he can see me, which I can only hope made him happy.

The thing is no matter how good someone else thinks you look, you will always have doubts about yourself, that's a natural feeling. I have changed, just look slightly older, but, I guess I'll always be afraid of rejection, and so people don't very often get a look at the real me, the pic I have is a Glamour shot, nothing special, but the make-up is done (I hate my hair in that pic for anyone that has it).

Only one person has pics of me Makeupless, and messy hair, and hell it took him 12 months of reassuring me that he wouldn't laugh or run screaming the other way for me to send them to him. Now, well Now I'm going crazy and sending him pics at every opportunity, even letting him watch me while we talk online together. Took a lot but I have finally got there.

I guess what I'm saying is that to some of us, perfection is what were striving for, and unfortunately we will never reach the standards that we think we should be at. So instead we send pics of us that are younger and more acceptable in OUR eyes.

Am I making sense Remington?

I understand completely.. I don't think of myself as the best looking man in the world but I don't care want anyone thinks. Cause I am who I am.. The best way to see someone is in th e morning if they are still sexy to you or your friend, then that is truly friendship.. If someone is looking for a relationship over the internet and they send a old picture, then they are not really being truthful from the start. Not that I am looking for that, I have the best wife any man could have.

This place needs a spell check, my spelling sucks

Well I actually did that this morning, you see he is in the States and I am in Australia, so when it's afternoon there it is morning here, well we talked this morning, and he hinted that he would like to see me, so wanting to please him, I turned the camera on, can't believe I did, but I did. Only hope he still accepts me (LOL), I know he will, he isn't a shallow person.

Oh and Remington, there was no way I was LOOKING for an online relationship, it happened and now I'm the happiest person alive, and I can't wait for the day that it becomes Real life.

P.S. I wouldn't recommend Online relationships to anyone, really I wouldn't.

I'am not saying there is anything wrong with on line relationships, but it is not real life. I hope yours works out, Doesnt the distance suck? Some times on line relationship make real life a little more exciteing, Hey the internet has opened my eyes to so many things...

You used an absolute by saying people "always" use old pictures. In that a picture taken yesterday is "old" I think you are implying that people are posting pictures of themselves that do not represent their recent aging. My photo is one year old. Out of half a century that must be considered recent. I have changed since a decade ago, and I have better looking photos to prove it, (I may post those separately) but I've put a realistic image of what I look like today. Sags, wrinkles, unsmooth skin, loss of muscle tone, grey beard and thinning hair. Still, not entirely unattractive, I am a man over fifty and that is the reality. So, I wonder how accurate is the assessment that people are posting outdated pictures.

The pictures on my member's page and in the amatuer pics section were taken on my 50th birthday, and I'm 51.5 now. Of course the pics have been there for a year already.

"Always" was the wrong word choice.

My question didn't come from looking at the postings, just that the wife gets pictures from people all the time and it seems they are always attached to an explaination that they are 5 or more years old and that the person doesn't look "exactly" like that anymore.

My picture is current (only 6 months old) and looks exactly like me. That's why I don't seem to hear from people very much longer after I send it, I guess.

The pic on my profile is 2 years old. But I look the same and plus I am too lazy to change it lol. I have more recent pics and basically if anyone wants to see, they can ask. I look the same in all of them aside from changes in haircolor I keep deciding to make lol

Ya' know. The pic in my profile, is only like three months old. And yes I do look like that. Scary aint it.
