Pictures with Stories

I'm aware of the limitations placed by Lit. regarding illustrated stories. I know about the copyright issues that require us to use only our original photos or drawings. Even so, I can't help thinking about how much hotter some stories would be if we could use photos from the internet.

One example I have is a celeb story about Kelly Monaco. I describe her in the story, but she is such a beautiful, sexy woman that words just don't do as much as a few pics would. The photos I have are strictly softcore and, if I had taken them with my camera, they would be acceptable. I think some of them are from Playboy, where she has appeared a few times. I have no intention of using them; I just wish I could.

I'm also doing a bondage story for one of my readers. She has provided me with some pics of her, including one where she is tied into the bondage device that I am describing in the story. She is a professional model, and the pics were probably taken for some kind of BDSM magazine, and I have no thought of actually using them but, if I could, they would make the story so much better and hotter.

I'm not really complaining about the limitations, because they are very reasonable, and I have no problem accepting them. I'm just thinking about how much better some stories would be if I could include some professional quality photos.

I normally use female models from my favorite sites as the templates for female characters.

I usually hide-post them on my personal site to give those readers that email a visual boost

I started writing a few stories based on sketches I have seen on the internet. I was even thinking about finishing one of them and then contacting the artist and seeing if they wanted to fill out the rest of the story with new images.

Probbaly won't happen though. I don't know who the artists are that drew the sketches I am basing my stories off of.

I'm not even pretending to have read the rules on this - but surely if you can obtain her consent and that of her photographer, then you could use the pictures?

It's not just the limitations on whose pictures you can use but you now have the limitations of how graphic they can be. I used an immunity this year in that category because all I got last year was feedback griping that I didn't show more skin in my pictures, when it was out of my hands.

It's not just the limitations on whose pictures you can use but you now have the limitations of how graphic they can be. I used an immunity this year in that category because all I got last year was feedback griping that I didn't show more skin in my pictures, when it was out of my hands.

For that reason, I have never posted an illustrated story, although I have posted some illustrated poems. I could take a pic of a woman wearing a negligee or a back view of her wearing panties, or a man in Speedos, or something like that, and illustrate a story. The problem is, I would have to use professional models, which would be much too expensive. The alternative would be to take an innocuous pic, such as a landscape, and set the story in the place that overlooks that area.

The specific photo I mentioned of the bondage device would probably not be allowed. It shows the woman tied in place, and her nipples are visible. Those of Kelly Monaco would be accepted because the ones I would use are nude, but side views or other poses that would be PG rated.

I believe the rules are more lenient now than they used to be, but they are still pretty rigid.
