Sadly both of them died. Pretty sure they weren't sposta be away from mama and we found a dead adult up the road, hit by a car.

Aww, that's sad.
Baby squirrels separated from their mother are hard to maintain, though.
You more or less have to become their mother and feed them milk and such, which is more than most people can invest time in.
Sad, but that's nature, and then you have to eventually release them into the wild, which after a lengthy raising is not easy either.
If they become too reliant on you, they fail to learn how to exist on their own.

Yeah, which is why I left em where they were. My neighbor was gonna call our local natural nursery the next day to get em looked after. We both worked the day tho and by time either of us were got home from work they'd already passed

Looking good. Starting to get cold now though.
I noted the covering on the still water. Over here it is called blue/green algae. Warnings are in place not to touch the water as it can cause severe health problems.
Wasn’t sure if they were squirrels as not a colouring I was expecting. Over here the majority are grey. These were imported from USA and carry a disease that kills off out native red squirrels. Reds are still here but in more remote areas where the greys haven’t reached yet.

Green algae here too. Lake Erie is bad for it, especially where we're at.
