https://www.npr.org/2018/02/20/5855...running-for-congress-in-2018-compared-to-2016
At latest count, 431 women were running for or were likely to run for the House nationwide — 339 Democrats and 92 Republicans. At this point in 2016, there were fewer than half that: 212. Likewise, 50 women are running for or likely to run for Senate, compared with 25 at this point in 2016. Many have not officially filed for office yet — filing deadlines have not occurred in many states. But thus far, this year is on track to break records.
Feminist zealotry ruined their brand. GOP hyper-misogyny brought feminism roaring back.

The lesson, which the GOP never learned: hate campaigns always come back to bite you in the ass.

Some advice for the GOP in the future:
1. Democrats even sent a woman candidate in their ranks up the river without a boat for harassing a man, and Democrat friend Harvey Weinstein, well, the ashes of his career are blowing in the wind. Al Franken took one for the team over just one accuser - which was wrong, but he took away your "whatabout"ism and probably was the tipping point for Roy Moore's loss.

So do what the Democrats did: throw your man on his sword if tons of sexual harassment/assault allegations pop up. One accuser is one thing, but a swarm of them means there's smoke, and where there's smoke, there's fire. Stop acting like women should keep their mouths shut. And for God's sake deal with your orange clown pussy grabber in Chief and stop covering for him.

2. Stop attacking Planned Parenthood. You won the good fight with the Hyde Amendment. De-funding the rest of Planned Parenthood is quite a few bridges too far. Women rely on PP for health care that isn't abortion, especially in rural areas - that includes prenatal care, which saves babies.

3. Ask yourself "does this crusade of mine specifically target women and not men?" If the answer is yes, re-think your crusade. Remember, feminists doing exactly this to men, is what destroyed them. Targeting an entire gender for reprisals has historically proven to be a bad thing. You're not exempt from this.

4. Patriarchal values are outdated. So let it go. Women want the liberty to define their own role in life, and your party claims to be the champion of individual liberty. So no more "boobs on the ground" and "women are a lesser cut of meat" nonsense.

5. Give up your fight against taxpayer-funded contraception. You're going to pay for it one way or another - either through abortions, welfare babies, etc. Think of it in terms of how big a hit it is on the ol' budget: taxpayer funded contraception coverage is the cheapest hit. Plus you can't kill an unborn baby if there's no pregnancy, and Obamacare's taxpayer funded contraception was proven to cut down on unwanted pregnancies, and abortions went down as a result. And contraception laws almost inherently target only women. So stop it.

Sadly, Republicans cannot muster this. Their burning desire to take women's rights back to the 19th century and their feeling that women's liberation (which is different from feminism) has ruined America, shackles them to the ruinous ideology and policies that will continue to alienate women from their ranks.

And so you will reap the devastating consequences of your excesses. Enjoy!

Then stop picking fights. You're too short to defend yourself against most voters anyway.
