Pi Day

Happy Pi day, the day before the Ides of March.

Only, if you will, make mine apple with ice cream on top.

"Pi to you."

As it does, each year, Pi Day has arrived!
Yes, until the calendar is re-orged, or the day is canceled. Smack-dab in the Ides of March, hey? Yes, I can envisage some terrible, terrible worldwide catastrophic shit obliterating the day, like the loss of 31 April long ago. Building on the Society For The Prevention Of Earthquakes (many chapters here in Calif) we need a Pi Day Preservation League. Send me your membership fees.

Whatever.

Alas, I must spend the Ides of March on the lookout for guys in togas, brandishing daggers.

I vote for moving Pi day to the fall, when the makings for Pie are readily available instead of (sorta) spring when everything is winter-wizened or unripe. :(

Didn't they do this las year? Looks like its come full circle and stuff.

Debbie

darn it, I missed forgot all about it. Maybe I can talk my better half into a trip to go eat some pi.

For Pi Day today we drove up to the San Diego mountain town of Julian, famous for numerous pie bakeries, and pigged-out on pies. Ala mode. Yum. This ties in with the "What's For Dinner?" thread -- it'll be salad, to counterbalance all those yummy calories.

That's today. Tomorrow we'll cruise over to Anza-Borrocho desert park for a superbloom hunt. We'll stop around Julian for more pie on the way back. Can't limit it to only one day.
