I'm looking for a program that will downsize my photos to fit this site. Anyone know of what I can use?

Down Sizing

There are several ways of doing this. Adobe's Photo Shop software will do it the easiest. Also all Windows OP's come with Paint which will do it (I've found this to be a little ugly).

There are any number of people on Lit who will do it for you. What size are you trying to go from and too?

Nice, small, simple program called "IrfanView" that works GREAT and takes a lot less than PhotoShop
Plus the free part ;)

Or if you don't mind, I believe there's still a thread somewhere nearby here where if you post an image, other Lit folks will downsize it for you.

But if you wan to do it in the privacy of your own home, try one of the programs people have suggested here, if not... ask!

Rotate the ones that won't attach 90 degrees and they'll probably upload. If they won't then the problem is file-size rather than dimensions.

www.irfanview.com is where you'll find irfanview. It's the best image management utility I've seen and is completely freeware.

I use photoshop, but thats a 500 dollar program which is a lot to pay for if all you're doing is resizing images. Paintshop Pro is pretty decent as well.

If you're considering Photoshop, you may want to look at Photoshop Elements. It is essentially PS Light. It contains nearly all the same tools, and unless you need to make super hi-res images for publishing, Elements will do fine. It's also less than half the price.
